In story 1 the narrator actually fused 3 stories together (1 from ATA, 2 from entitled people subreddit) which caused him to skip on some background.. In the first part (ATA post) OP was asking whether they're the jerk for not helping aunt and it was revealed that the "college money" stunt wasn't the first time she tried to get money.. Apparently she tried to enter college before that and asked her brothers (OP's dad and uncle) to pay for her tuition which they did but all of a sudden she dropped out and refused to pay them back but they didn't push it further since she's their sister and that's why OP's uncle is refusing to pay this time as well as OP's dad insistence on not paying and enjoying their vacation.. OP's dad had asked OP to keep it a secret as apparently the rest of the family doesn't know about the previous stunt (which is why they're responding like that)
