They’re jetboats, which means that they propel themselves (and turn primarily with) with a jet of water that comes in through an intake and is shot out the back. Because of the properties of jetboats, the faster you’re going, the more water you’re shooting out means more propulsion, which in turn makes these boats able to turn on a virtual dime. The funny part is that they’re almost uncontrollable at low speeds, because they need that water pumping through to change direction
