If it helps, I was stuck on a checkpoint at a small town airport in the middle of nowhere North Carolina as a 17 yrs old E-4 until my MOS school hold resolved. The last day I was on the CP before 2 days leave and school, I was posted on the forward inspection stop... At 0600 a big white 80's sedan come speeding into the concrete barrier directly in front of where I was standing, the driver jumped out with a shotgun. I started pulling up the only weapon I was allowed to carry, a M9 pistol, and then I woke up being loaded into a deuce and 1/2 on a stretcher. The E-3 that was my backup had mag dumped his M9 and the only round that missed the bottom half of the split-door of the shack, shattered my rear upper right armor plate from 15 foot away. It terrified the guy, that just escaped the mental ward, and he instantly gave up. Then the a$$hole that shattered my shoulder, got promoted to E-5 and transferred to a new unit before I got out of rehab, and nobody would tell me what unit it was. I got a damn good conduct shut up metal and another 6 month delay for school. I was in from 99Apr - 08Mar and I didn't see anyone except for one E-7 get a purple heart. I was able to bring home a unmodified, numbers matching 1917 Remington M1891. The previous owner didn't need it anymore and my Captain let me keep it because it was to long for me to reach the trigger with the muzzle in my mouth.

Now that he has his citizenship, he looks at me as his "retainer", like the samurai did back in the day. Dude is the most loyal friend I have, and you would think "cool, I got a ride or die", but truth is, we worked our asses off for his citizenship, and I don't want him risking it for ANYTHING. One of the wildest things I've seen was someone here on KZbin from Europe who went to Venezuela and walked to America with people. The amount who were going to _Canada_ was shocking Canada has a much more open immigration policy to help offset their demographic slump, so the walkers would rather run though America hand become Canadian these days lmao Also, I agree we need to reform the legal immigration system pretty quickly, those "military age males" are a population that's getting smaller and smaller in America every year. People just aren't having kids like in the past, and our economy needs working age people who are willing to fill the shortfall. We had a big statue in NYC back in the day just for immigration... Might be time to start getting back into that attitude

@@mikekarlin3320 if u have a leatherman with the leather auger on it u take one pill bottle and melt into the bottom of it 9 holes so 8 around the edge and 1 in the center u then melt a sinle hole in the side to be used as the carb then to the bottom pill bottle u melt a hole that is slightly smaller than the largest portion of the antenna. For the antenna stem u break it remove the remainder of the antenna from it reround out the end using a pair of needle nose pliers wedge it into the hole in the side of the bottom pill bottle that only has the single side hole then u take about a ¼in wide 1½in long strip of a soda can cleaned off and roll it into a coil then roll it back on itself so it doesnt unroll and wedge it into the antenna then press it down to about a ¼in into the antenna section and use that to fully smoke the rest of your blunt roaches so u dont waste any of that good stuff

You wanna have some fun and make doing the ASVAB more interesting? When I did the MEPPS ASVAB, I was already near the bottom of my FOURTH (4th) Monster BFG can, and it took me 15 minutes to finish scoring a 92. Pair that with the fact that there was a couple of valley girl types that took the entire hour, but they were getting yelled at by a duo of marines, apparently they both scored a 3 (which meant one was cheating to get the exact same answers). The most amusing thing I've heard a marine yell at a crying girl was, "HOW THE HELL DID YOU SCORE A THREE? HUH? YOU FAILED ON PURPOSE, RIGHT? SAY IT! SAY IT, MOTHERFUCKER! THERE'S NO WAY TO GET LESS THAN 10 UNLESS YOU KNOW THE QUESTIONS, EVEN THE DUMBEST ONES WILL GET 10 IF THEY CHOOSE NOTHING BUT -C-, AND A HIGHER SCORE IF THEY CHOSE ANY OTHER LETTER!" I will keep laughing at that chewing out to my grave.

@JaxFPrime81 oh, dude, that was before I even got in. Real navy, we saw pallets stacked 10 feet high of nothing but monster being loaded on carriers, the only drinks they'd allow during flight operations were monster or rip-it, and at the least, I was usually on a 2 monster per hour binge if I got stuck on fire bottle duty for the day (2 monsters in the camelbak and fill the rest with ice.)

Nah dawg, only pilots dring rip-it. @jameskirk3 Once I hit my limit on Monster, I switched to BAWLS and haven't looked back. Nothing beats the insane energy of one dinky little bottle/can of BAWLS for the entire day, that doesn't hit you unless you either need it to stay awake (as a slow draw) or quick reflex action (like hitting the nitrous in a drag). The underdog doesn't promote outside the mailing list, and they only recently started selling it in local grocery stores, but it's got the better caffeine that is better for your health than any other brand.

44:18 one of my favorite songs talks about this. It's a shanty-type sea-farer's song called "Bones in the Ocean" by The Longest Johns --- "As the souls of the dead live for'er in my mind As I live all the years that they left me behind I'll stay on the shore but still gaze at the sea I remember the fallen and they think of me For our souls in the ocean together will be" The best way to honor their memory is to live well and with love - when you are reunited in the afterlife, your life story ought to be one you're excited to tell them and reflect on proudly

As a natural born US citizen, I don't have a huge issue with people that want to immigrate here and are coming in with a patriotic to the USA mindset, but that clearly isn't the totality or even the majority of the people coming over the border and immigrating here both legally and illegally. I live in a small town that has a LOT of both legal and illegal immigrants here and I can't recall ever seeing one that was waving a US flag around or had a US flag decal on their truck. You see nothing but Mexican flags everywhere and dudes walking around in Walmart with MS13 tattoos. The only two high speed chases I can recall in this sleepy little community were both perpetrated by dudes who snuck across our border. The last high speed chase happened about three days ago and the guy wrapped his car loaded with drugs around a tree and died in the hospital after receiving tens of thousands of dollars in medical care at taxpayer expense. Noone even talks about the effect of injecting millions more laborers into an economy has on wages overall (the effect absolutely hammers the lowest wage earners and reaches farther up the economic chain than most would understand).

@@Jorge-jh9lo If you aren't here 100% legally you AREN'T a good one. You can't violate our laws in any way and say you are good. That isn't how it works. If you had immigrated here legally, I would welcome you with open arms as a brother.

For anyone curious, when Brandon said habeas corpus I'm pretty sure he meant posse comitatus which is about it being unconstitutional to use the military in a civilian policing role.
