If I tried to hold onto my 15month Airedale with only a slip lead held in one hand, he'd be off like a shot. Also, slip leads don't seem to do anything to him - he just pulls against them regardless (stubborn). Once he's walked for a bit, he calms down and walks very well, but that first 15 minutes is a nightmare!
