True, there is a lot of down time leading to a lot of ads, but nothing compares to the last few minutes of an NBA game. It is way worse with the amount of stoppage time. But even with the ads it enables some free time to flip to other games or you can do something else during the stoppage etc.

I record all the football games I watch and then I play them back afterwards. That way you can fast forward through all the commercials. The average NFL football game is only about an hour and twenty minutes long with all the commercials and the halftime show skipped over. The only thing is you have to avoid finding out who won before you finish watching the replay. I tell my family that I'm on "football blackout" and they are forbidden to say anything about the outcome of the game. You also have to carefully avoid TV and the Internet so you don't accidentally find out who won. Even though the game is actually over and decided when you watch it, it still feels the same as watching it live.

I am a Broncos fan, but I have to call it like it is. Broncos are not ready for this next level. Other teams that are truly at this level would have put the Bengals away much, much sooner. They just don't have the offensive horses (pun intended), their offense is too predictable with WR's and tight ends that cannot get open for nothing. And then the defense is kind of sporadic. The play calling lacking in creativity. I don't see it with this team, this season. That offense really needs some serious talent to compete at this level.
