See aerial video of the Crazy Horse Memorial up close and personal. Located in the South Dakota Black Hills, near Mt Rushmore. When visiting South Dakota, this memorial is must do trip, good for a half day to see it in person. Then take the other half day and drive nearby Hwy 87 to see Sylvan Lake and drive the Needles Highway to Custer State Park. There is a lot to see and do in South Dakota.
Captured with a Mavic2Zoom drone.

@@LordLoMR2 Thanks for showing us you don't have a damn clue. Rushmore took 14 years to finish. Using 400 men. !n 1925 dollars Rushmore funding was 989,000 dollars. Today, just figuring inflation, 14,243,747.54, wages then averaged 8.00 per hour for those men (yes they made huge money for those times) In 1998 Rushmore was renovate for a paltry 58 million dollars. You are also excluding what it cost to build the center, keep it open, maintain it and other ancillary costs. Completion? Rushmore took 14 years yet the carving took only 5. Why? Waiting - weather. Is there controversy - yes but there was controversy for Rushmore and even the stature of liberty. Also this monument is 4 times the size of Rushmore and only 4 to 10 people are working on it mostly.

Hi all. I normally don't really comment much on KZbin but I kind of felt I should on this one. I was in South Dakota the weekend after Thanksgiving 2021. I primarily visited "SD" for the numerous parks, Deadwood (really nice), and of course Mount Rushmore. On my last full day I went to Crazy Horse totally unexpectedly! I saw signs on the highway and just figured I'd check it out. I can't emphasize what a great decision it was! Crazy Horse is a MUST SEE in South Dakota. A much nicer site than Rushmore. The museum, theater, gift shop, and restaurant all very nice. I'll just end by saying that I was told if I return in 10 years (2031), the arm and hand MAY BE finished!

Good video, but I personally think it's egomaniacal to put anyone's face on a mountain and destroy the beautiful scenery. This was just someone's ego who wanted to out do mt rushmore. Terrible to destroy nature in this way for a tourist attraction. Any one agree? Jist build a statue. Don't deface a mountain. That's like a graffiti artist painting a mountain red!!!

This is effectively private property. You can't do anything about it. Mount Rushmore on the other hand, you can start a campaign to have the faces removed and carve the mountain back into a natural looking landscape.

@@Mchitman1 Well, actually they said 30 years back in 1948. Now 73 years later they apparently are saying 100 MORE years. I suspect in 100 years they will still be 100 years from completion. However, as long as they are getting money from visitors they are bound to eventually finish it... even if they only remove a bucket's worth of material each year. I suspect though that they would finish it 10 times faster if they simply let each visitor chisel off a hand full.
