Car is absolutely gorgeous, no doubt. However... I could not stand listening to that sound for more than 5 minutes. It reminds me of driving in my cousin's 1987 Honda CRX. Flat Plane Crank ruined Corvette. IMO this is why C8's are going to pile up at dealerships and why C6 and C7 Vette prices will not go down anytime soon, especially the special models (Z06 / ZR1 / GS). This is bad for the used Vette market. Sellers asking exorbitant prices will be sitting on cars longer and it will be harder to get younger generations into the spirit of Vette ownership.

As someone who has a z06 he's in track mode. You can go into tour mode and it's quiet as hell or you can go b in to custom mode and change how loud you want it to be. But people don't buy the car who don't want some anger in the engine generally. Track mode only gets 5 to 8mpg on street also, so daily driving you probably going to be on tour, custom, or at worst sport mode. But if you wanna piss off the neighbors keep it in track mode all day

@@sparaz Maybe I'm a bit more old fashioned. I love the sound of long tubes on a pushrod V8. It's the sound of the flat plane I cannot get used to. I just think they would have done better by investing time and R&D into a robust AWD system and stayed with the powerplant's they were already using. The C8 with an LT5 or LS9 with a robust AWD system would have been the ultimate machine. Not to mention, keeping an actual manual gearbox option. I can appreciate the technology of paddle shifting, but for twisties, I prefer the rowing experience. Personal preference, but I'd rather have my Vette sound like Hell's Chariot and not a ZX-14.

I'ma be honest, my dad has a C8 3LT and even that doesn't feel like it should have a manual. He's mad Mustangs, with manuals, since '99, and every single time, those are proper muscle cars and they deserve a manual transmission. But the DCT on the C8 feels amazing, and definitely a must for how the car feels. With the C8, you gotta remember it's not at all like a muscle car any more, and is truly a 'domestic exotic', if you will. Normally I'd agree with you, and I'm a huge 'save the manuals' guy, but the C8 is doing just fine without one, in fact, I think it's doing much better.

My uncle has a C6 anniversary edition (base model with an LT7 in it, basically) and that thing also deserves the manual because it feels WAY more muscle car-esque than the new C8. Again, the C8 doesn't feel like American muscle, because it isn't.
