Keep up the good work... the circular motion was the gem for MEEEE, and also, the 1 guard up a quarter inch after the first guideline was helpful becuz, as a beginner, you get lost in the cut if you're not careful...

As always, great cut, bro! I like the longer videos. It usually gives the barber longer to give info while they're showing the full cut. When you do these types of line designs, do you just lightly tap with the trimmers to set the line?
@AndrewCuts
@AndrewCuts 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you brother I appreciate the feedback🙏💯 Yes exactly. Just tap lightly with the trimmers and slowly make the lines bigger if you feel they need it. Remember you can always make them bigger but there’s no making them smaller

I gave this a try and here's what I found out: 1. Fading with 1 mirror and a phone camera is hard especially the back. 2. Cutting the top sides with a scissors and comb is hard af and I'm not coordinated enough for it. I wish I would've seen this vid where he just takes the buzzer to it because it achieves the same results. 3. if you let your hair get too long like I did you'll have a harder time creating that fade line. Definitely trim it down with a 3 or 4 before taking a no guard to it or else you straight up won't even seen the line. His was already pretty short so he could actually see it.

Any tips for cutting the back of your head? How's your mirror setup? Does a hand-held mirror work for it?
@AndrewCuts
@AndrewCuts 4 жыл бұрын
Take your time and make sure you have a clear view. I usually use two mirrors, one hanging on a wall and one propped up on an adjustable chair or door so that I can move it around. I also use the selfcut system from time to time which also works really well. I’ve never used a hand held mirror but I’ve heard they work just fine

Should someone like me that has zero experience cutting his own hair just start off with buying the Wahl senior and practice with that and then buy the outliner and trimmer or are those needed to make the fade? Long story short can I make a good enough fade with just the Wahl senior?
@AndrewCuts
@AndrewCuts 4 жыл бұрын
Yes you can do a fade with just the wahl senior. I recommend you start off with something cheap and then as you get more experience you can upgrade. Obviously the more/better tools you have, the easier and better the fade will be but the last thing you want to do is spend hundreds of dollars on equipment just to realize you don’t like cutting your own hair

Can this be done without the trimmer at the end? I’ve been using a beard trimmer to fade my hair (really🤣) and it’s done an ok job so far but wanted to learn properly so ordered good clippers my barber recommended, the beard trimmer I have is perfect for a skin fade because it takes it down to skin like a razor does (not quite as close but almost) can I use that to do what you did with the trimmer?

When he says that at the 55 sec mark he is referring to the second step (No Guard open, go up an inch) which starts at the 39 sec mark. on the 55sec mark is actually the 3rd step which he starts explaining the (1 guard closed, 1/2 inch up) Hope this makes sense.
