I totally agree with you about estate sales and it breaks my heart to see family pictures for sale. I bought a beautiful painting of a little girl for the antique frame. I just couldn't take her out of the frame. I named her Adeline and made her part of my family.

I think your two bottles are liquor decanters. Probably why the warning is on the bottom. For special events like Christmas liquor distributors would come out with unique and pretty bottles to entice buyers to purchase. Because of that people saved the bottles as they were too pretty to throw away.
@donniekean15413 жыл бұрын
Sarah, I have the identical white bottle. Mine, however, does not have the stopper. I believe the bottles you found, and mine, were liquor bottles. Thus the restriction about reuse. May I ask why you like the ironstone crazed or crackled? I have always thought that made it less desirable, so I think I am missing something you know. I so enjoy your posts! Best to you from Florida.

that IS an ice cream scooper. my great grandmother had the exact same one. to dish out the hard ice cream they had to be strong. i remember it as a toddler! i use to play with it in her kitchen..banging a pot! even have a picture of me with it. she use to run it under hot water first to help loosen the ice cream. it wasnt for individual use though....lol

I know this is an old video but it's snowing here so I'm watching lots today 🤣 your big bottle that you were told held lotion is an alcohol decanter. That's why it says it cannot be resold or refilled. Anytime you find a bottle that says that, it held liquor. Hope you're having a nicer day in CA than were having in the Midwest 🥶

Sarah, The Rubiyat of Omar Khayyam is another famous work of literature ( I am the one who commented on Crime and Punishment in a previous video.) Probably the most famous poem from it has these lines: “The moving finger writes; and, having writ, moves on: nor all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel half a line, nor all thy tears wash out a word of it." See if you can find the poem! If I had seen this I would have snapped it up because it is a very old copy of a famous book; you thrifted it because it was beautiful and old. Take a few minutes and google the Rubiyat. I think you will find it interesting. I hope you do not mind my altering you to the fact that you have purchased famous books without knowing they are famous. As an English major, I feel the need to point this out!

Wow! Nice to see that your local. I am in Stockton. I just came across your channel. What Habitat store do you go to? The one in Stockton has furniture mostly. I furnished my apartment from Habitat. The one in Stockton gets most of their donations from Restoration Hardware as the warehouse is in Tracy.

@@SarahsOctoberHome oh its interesting that they take estate sale items in Atwater. A tip for Stockton I'd they arent open on sun/mon. I have found that is when they get donations from Restoration Hardware. So a good time to go is on Tuesday. The selection varies like with all Habitat stores. But when they have sales it's incredible. 100$ to 1000$ rugs for 30$ to 200$ couches 149$ that were 800$ all with minor issues. If you come down check out the salvation army and Goodwills, stock alot of Target. Some of the independent shops have become $$$$$. The antique shops are $$$$$$ . God bless

Federal law required distillers to mark that on their bottles directly after prohibition for obvious reasons due to bootlegging. I think maybe your bottle is from a distiller, however the cap or stopper looks to have come from a decanter. I LOVE your chairs. BEAUTIFUL find!

Here is what I found when I Googled: What language is Rubaiyat written in? Persian Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám, the Astronomer-poet of Persia/Original languages Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyám is the title that Edward FitzGerald gave to his translation of a selection of poems, originally written in Persian and numbering about a thousand, attributed to Omar Khayyám (1048-1131), a Persian poet, mathematician and astronomer.Mar 20, 2017
