It’s amazing what are willing to spend on things we want! I see that the Artex R2 is selling for over $2000 on eBay stores! I showed my wife a picture of the rod and asked her how much would she pay for that fishing rod. She said ‘ Maybe, $20.’ Beautiful is certainly in the eyes of the beholder.

Sweet lineup! I bought a okuma xxhvy guide select rod for my soft bait setup w daiwa 300 tatula lefty in 8to1. I've thrown a few glides on it in the 5 to 6 oz size,and I have no ther rods to compare.... I had to start w something right? So now I see how you can get a does everything type rod,or a specific bait and a rod reel combo to maximize the baits potential! Awsome information Geoffrey 👌! Good luck this season 👍

Between the orochi xx leviathan and the levante leviathan which rod would you say would be best to throw both soft and hard baits on? Or is there another rod out there that you feel could throw both better? Going to get a rod for both soft and hard baits eventually but need something that could do both well until I can get a second swimbait rod.

Do you like the grips on the drt rods??? I want to try them out on a new rod they look sweet. I’m getting a x heavy 8 ft northfork 807 1 X-ray c602. Blanks thin and light only a 3 oz blank “new shit” and building 2. Just want some sick rods. I was wondering if you ever used the acid wrapped guides on the big rods either. I have them on an 808 neo rod from northfork and like it just seeing your opinion. Thanks jrod

Hi Geoff, what's the concept behind the "spiral guide setting" casting rods as Deps called? Less tangle issues for what I read but does it produce more friction while casting and retrieve or not?
@geoffreythekingfishing2 жыл бұрын
It’s to help fighting bigger fishing and smoother casts. I haven’t noticed a huge difference myself though in traditional wraps or spiral wraps

Was just planning on a Lew's 2-10oz Super Duty or the cheaper Daiwa DX Swimbait rods, the XH or H. Just plan to use 20-25lb fluoro or 65lb braid. I will never understand why anyone makes videos about their particular rod set ups. The factors that make each individual like a particular rod are so varried, personal, and nuanced, that its almost impossible to say that what works well for you is something that is worth me spending my money on. Also, baitcastinf reels are for people who just need to keep up with trends

The $100 price point is great from jumping from a 200 size reel to a 300 size reel. I would use both reels on completely different setups. The 300 would be used for baits in that 4-12oz range while the 200 would’ve used for baits in that 1-5oz range. Both reels are great though!
