Always repulsive when the guy the powers that be wanted to win---$$$$---takes a beating but gets the win anyway. To think that Mesi's father bitched no end when they pulled his boy's license after the brain damage this fight caused b/c he couldn't let go of his fantasy of his son becoming the next Marciano. At the time of this fight he was eight years into his career and had turned 30, so WAY behind the 8 ball. Check the records of any notable heavyweight champ (particularly unified) since 1950. Invariably they win the title within 4 years. That Mesi retired undefeated is a fiasco and reflects 95% of his opponents were Buffalo bus drivers...

Jirov was a great cruiserweight but he was washed up for this fight. His balance is terrible in this fight. His jab and trademark body attack are non existent. Mesi wasn’t a good fighter. He was a regional attraction being built up to challenge for a title. He had a big following but he never had the talent to compete with the elite guys.

🙄No jodan. Se entiende que Messi era un novato. Jirov era un peleador con mucha experiencia y fue campeón crucero pero era de tácticas sucias. Golpes ilegales que le hicieron más daño a Messi. Además, solo Jirov le ganó los rounds que lo derribó precisamente con golpes detrás de la cabeza.🤨
