I still have the one that has been in our family since the 70s that we bought at a candle chain store in Northpark Mall in Joplin Missouri called Wicks "N" Sticks. It's very pretty when lit with a candle inside. We always burnt votive candles in ours back then. there was no such candle as a tea light back then. I loved that store so much! if you ever come across something that looks old in the dinnerware/teaset type of stuff and it has what appears to be sand on the bottom rim BUY IT. it means it was fired sitting on a bed of sand and they havent done that in a long, LONG time. my nana had an entire set of pink and gray dinnerware w/ the raised design and it sold for quite a few bucks at the estate sale. do your research though. might not still be worth that much anymore.

To keep colors from running, soak in a salt water bath. Use quite a bit of salt. Great finds today. But so many cool things were chipped.
@MyDjturner2 жыл бұрын
yes I agree. Use hot water and salt to dissolve the salt. Let it cool then place the bag in it to soak awhile. Use a bit of soap on a toothbrush and gently scrub using small circular motions. That will release the stains. Don't wring it out, just press the water out onto a thick pad of towel. Change towels until not dripping. Dry flat.

You found some great things! It’s possible that the yarn used on the folk art tote (or purse) is wool and would not wash well. I would ask a dry cleaner to see if the stain could be removed. It’s such a cute bag!
@duckymeejs2 жыл бұрын
Salt in the water can sometimes set a colour and keep it from bleeding. But, I like another commenter's statement about removing the handle if it looks like you suspect it might bleed. . You might be able to soak the purse in some oxiclean and get the discolouration areas clean. I know a Vera Bradley collector that soaks her second hand Vera's in Oxiclean. They come out really clean. . However, a knowledgeable dry cleaner would be able to direct you as to what could be done with the purse... and give you some more definite answers. 🥰
