The heart attack grill is a real damn thing. And their food is horrendously unhealthy on purpose. Their fries are fried in pure lard, their milkshakes use only buttermilk... And their burgers... Grilled with lard, buns soaked in lard and some burgers have over 10.000 or even 20.000 calories. Maybe you could react to a video of this chain soon. I didn't even mention the craziest parts!

I once saw a warning on my dad's pack of cigarettes that read "smoking can cause infertility" On the image there were two women, one dressed in light colors holding a toddler and another smoking, looking at the other woman wearing all black. It was supposed to read as jealousy or perhaps grief over an unborn child. I read it as a sapphic couple caring for their first child

When I was a kid, I could spin crazy stories and absolutely get into a mood, where at that moment for me the story was absolutely real. One time I became "friends" with a shadow and when the sun kept sinking and it kept disappearing, I was absolutely devastated. This girl is probably just not in reality rn. She imagined this was her brother and then she believed her own story and couldn't let go. It's like with people who are too much in their head, like really jealous or anxious people, who make up scenarios in their head and then they're upset about them. It's just more obvious on a child.

Exactly! Throughout my young and adolescent time of life I could not stand for long at all let along walk far at all. Went from cruches or a walker to wheelchair since I either fell still/or collapsed. I honestly lost count the dirty stares, rude comments I got. Only a handful of "Karens" had the audacity to make a huge deal, stopped abs harassed me, demanding me to bring back where I found the wheelchair. Even after explaining it was kine and I had Lupus, each of these few people made the sane relative comments of: "Your legs aren't broken", "You don't look disabled.", "You are too young to be in a wheelchair." Or simply, "You're lying, quit playing around and get off." Each were either dealt with by other passing strangers, or staff of wherever I was. Unfortunately I didn't have a great backbone then and hated the fact my active life was gone. So it was a sensitive topic which made me cry the moment those comments started up. Every now or then, I have to use it again. But while I'm still not in remission at 34yrs, I'm taking it one step at a time.

I saw a video about the heart attack grill, and it's absolutely insane. The owner genuinely celebrates when people die in his restaurant because "it's good for business." Their mascot is a man who frequented the restaurant and died from a heart attack. If you don't finish your plate, the waiter has to spank you with a paddle. The owner claims the purpose of the restaurant is to bring awareness to how unhealthy the fast food industry is, but he's clearly going about it in the wrong way. That man genuinely terrifies me.

Funny thing about that horror outfit the guy made... They have a few videos about it, walking around in it during october and spooking people. One girl saw the outfit, and fell in love immediately and befriended it. Because all the dude was doing was walking around, snapping the jaws, and sometimes shaking the head. This girl called the design 'big dinosaur' and people loved her so much they begged the creator to get her a plush toy of the creature. And so they did, and the guy who made it even brought the toy in the outfit to give to the girl. She practically was squealing and squeezing that toy so happily--it looked like she wanted to do that for AGES but never could because of the size. Honestly I love that about kids-some of them see a scary creature and just go "Oh! A Friend!"

@lynniewood
@lynniewood Жыл бұрын
The people that think youre faking it if you can move your legs or walk are so stupid. the majority of wheelchair users are ambulatory, its surface level knowledge that not every wheelchair user is paralyzed. Like, they haven't even done even the basic disabled people 101 research, why do they think they have any right ttopolice who is and isn't disabled? It doesn't help disabled people to harass anyone who doesn't fit their extremely limited and inaccurate idea of disability. The only thing it helps is their ego and savior complex.
@shinymainespoon

Never heard that term before, but a friend of mine was similar. Sometimes she could stand and move without issue, sometimes she had someone to lean on while walking, and sometimes a wheelchair was the best option. Just depended on the day and the distance. Does this count as partially ambulatory?

Kudos for their creativity! I remember my phase of imaginary friends, when I was little; back before my dad bought land next to my grandparents' place (to clear out the trees and establish his own home), the pine tree my sisters and I had a playtime stand in had a random door abandoned right nearby. For the duration it was left there, I used to pretend it was a secret portal to Wonderland (before I fully comprehended the Looking Glass aspect of the stories). And aside from pretending Dracula was my imaginary boyfriend (because I latched onto vampires, at a VERY early age 😅), I also had an imaginary dane/golden retriever hybrid (I forgot her name, sadly) who was my brave, femme variant of Scooby Doo; she had puppies in a random stranger's yard, during one of my trips back to my aunt's on a school bus (when I had to frequently crash at her place during my early years of education). Also had an imaginary bestie named Jenna, but she was perhaps the closest to a "normal person" among the cast of imaginary friends I had made up. I think one of them had a werewolf friend I conjured up for them, but I never "interacted" with that character.

Tangentially related to the brother/sister relationship: there is a phenomenon called something along the lines of "genetic sexual attraction" where siblings who were not raised together but meet later, usually in adulthood, end up developing a sexual and romantic attraction to one another. Some psychologists have theorized that when people encounter siblings they were not raised with the brain knows that you're supposed to feel love towards them but they weren't raised together so there's no learned boundaries of exactly the TYPE of love they're supposed to feel for the sibling so the wires in the brain get crossed and what should be sibling love becomes the same kind of romantic love one might feel towards a non-related stranger they're just getting to know. It's pretty fascinating.
@philospher77
@philospher77 Жыл бұрын
Also, according to the "selfish gene" theory, your siblings/offspring are the best option to have children with if you want the largest number of your genes to pass on to the next generation. There are many many stories out there of siblings or child/parent relationships forming when estranged people meet, because they haven't had time for the incest taboo to be instilled in them. The fascinating flip side of this is the experience in Israeli kibbutzes (sp?), where unrelated children that were raised communally found it difficult to form romantic relationships amongst themselves, because they thought of each other as siblings and that incest taboo overrode other relationships. Humans are fascinating creatures!

A wholesome story from Denmark in a similar style to the disabled ex husband. A couple was married in denmark and the husband ended up with a severe disability. But HE filed for divorce. Basically, he didn't want her to waste her life on him when she could offer so much more to another lucky guy, and she deserved to be happy. There was no question. This was his wish. But story's not over. They did get a divorce, but there was no way in hell the now ex wife would leave it at that. She would be his friend and caretaker. She did actually fall in love again, and got married AND THE NEW HUSBAND HAD HER DISABLED EX MOVE IN AND FITTED THE HOUSE TO HIS NEEDS AS WELL. They where friends of a family member of mine. I strive to become just a fraction of any one of these ppl and I would consider myself a succesfull human.

Been identifying as polyamorous for many years, so I can respect that dynamic. And it goes beyond the "ethical slut" half-joke. Emotional bonds for me are needed to have an intimate partner, and so I can understand loving a person, even in change of circumstances and how you love them. And having another person enter the dynamic, who is caring enough to join their lover in support of an old friend/former lover, is to me one of the sweetest things I've ever heard of about human behavior. It teaches a healthier approach to comprehending relationships that go beyond the normal monogamous coupling.

When I drove a friend (in a wheelchair due to serious surgery) to the hospital for a checkup, I parked in a wheelchair spot and wheeled her into the hospital. I had a temporary placard. As I walked back to my car and got in an elderly man with a walker shouted at me for using a handicap parking space. It was pretty scary tbh, he cared more that I was using up a space that he wanted to use than the fact that my friend, who was in a lot of pain and would not have been able to get out anywhere else in the crowded space, needed it at the time (probably more urgently than him tbh.) The short horror comics you mentioned are the comics made by Junji Ito, the specific comic you mentioned is titled "The Hanging Balloons". Please note for anyone curious, Junji Ito is currently hailed as one of the most prolific horror writers and illustrators in history, particularly in regards to body horror. Body horror is a subgenre that makes its home deep in the uncanny valley, often showing extreme disfigurements, mutilation and mutation. All of his works, even the non body horror ones are equal parts disturbing and fascinating. His works also are deeply psychological and touch on topics like compulsion, obsession, existential dread, suicide, psychosis, etc PLEASE DO NOT SEEK OUT JUNJI ITO'S WORK IF YOU'RE NOT IN A GOOD HEAD SPACE. One of Junji Ito’s best known works is the Enigma of Amigara Fault where an earthquake reveals a bunch of human silhouette shapes carved deep into the rock. Several people have found “their hole” a shape that perfectly fits them and are compelled to go into their hole. Those that have find that once they go in, they cannot come back out, only able to go deeper. They are never heard from again. Months later, another earthquake reveals something similar, except the holes are in no way human shaped, just five extremely wavy and narrow points. They look into one, and see something. *CW: Body Horror, Allegory for the result, not a pretty mental image* Well, do you know how metal extrusion works? You force metal though a hole with a specific shape so that the metal has that shape. Yeah, it’s that but.. people.

Seeing a video review of the film adaptation of "Gyo: Tokyo Fish Attack" was my official introduction to Junji Ito, years ago (aside from seeing a former coworker wearing a graphic hoodie that depicted some of his other works). There is an incredible unique shade of existential terror, in Ito's works; in a similar vein to Lovecraft's storytelling, the reader-alongside the poor souls in the stories, doomed to terrible fates-are meant to feel helpless and insignificant. Among all of the hellish nightmare fuel that develops, the encapsulating dread of powerlessness comes with the awareness of being a blip in the grand motions of everything happening.

Eventually they argued to the point where she gave up. Fun fact: The heat in a chili pepper comes from the oil, not the seeds. Capsaicin is oil soluble, after all, which is why drinking milk works better than drinking water to cool the burn. The highest concentration of oil is in the placenta, or structure that holds the seeds, which is why a lot of the oil ends up coating the seeds. If you were to wash the seeds, they would have no heat whatsoever.

The less humanoid it was, the more disturbing we found it. Even for creatures like the one from Alien. It's still bipedal and has something that can be identified as a head... even if it's elongated to make it unhuman-like. It's not as disturbing as the creature shown at 29:40. 15:30 Yes, i know 2 people Who both can walk but use wheelchairs. Thats because If they use their legs too much they kinda stop working, and its like a 2 minutes in the weelchair for 1 minute walking kinda deal. One of them told me a funny story that one time her wheelchair got akwardly crammed between two things and one lady tried to help her, but then she just stod up and moved her wheelchair out If the way herself. The woman was too stunned to speak.

8:12 I think it's wholesome. She never chose to stop loving him, the accident took the person away from her. It's not their fault. It also took their future and his future. Now he is part of the family he wanted to have, but would've never had if she just left him in the carehome. It might sound od to some people, but it's the same with widows. They didn't stop loving the person who died, but it's time to move on at some point. The dead spouse will be a part of the other person.
@shaylafey
@shaylafey Жыл бұрын
I get what your saying and we don't know the full situation. But the accident take anyone away from her, he's not dead, he's still alive, he's just disabled. Theres a lot of nuance, in that goverments need to be better at providing services that allow disabled people more independence, as opposed to relying on residential live in facilities or loved ones to be full time caregivers without relife or pay (and thus having to work while also being a caregiver), but the person is still there. Still being apart of the life of someone you claim to love, after they become disabled, isn't wholesome, its the bare minimum.

@@shaylafeyThe post says he suffered a brain injury. I unfortunately don't know how bad that was, but the severity of it could have turned him into a completely different person. Being unable to process things properly, to speak at all, to remember faces, hell, sometimes people's personalities change completely. At that point, isn't it like your loved one has died? Wouldn't you want your partner to move on if something like that had happened?
@fluffystuff500
@fluffystuff500 Жыл бұрын
@@shaylafey If your loved one ends up a completely different person after a brain injury then that person they were when you met them is gone. The brain is a complicated thing and if it's damaged, the affects can be enough to destroy the foundation of a relationship. After all, it's hard to remain in romantic love with a complete stranger. If it wasn't specified as a traumatic brain injury, I'd understand your point. Of course, most of the time, disabilities don't completely erase someone or give anyone an excuse to cut them off. However, this is a circumstance where the dude could have actually changed as a person enough for it to be impossible to maintain what they once had. In that case it is only natural that she would move on with romantic relationships, and it is kind of her to keep in contact with him.
@shaylafey
@shaylafey Жыл бұрын
its a gray area, and im not even saying in that case staying together is the best thing, but a change in personality is only one possible outcome and here is clearly not the driving factor why everyone is claiming it to be so wholesome. The disability is. Thats the point. @@LedaTheotokoglou

Two things: 1. The Heart Attack Grill is real. It's basically a restaurant to cater to people breaking their diets. The food is old-fashioned -- the fries are fried in lard and the sodas use real sugar -- and fattening, but not truly dangerous in and of itself. The waitresses in tight nurse uniforms set more hearts racing than the burgers do. 2. That's a real Flash cover, but somebody Photoshopped that hole. It's originally much larger.

24:34 when my mom was in high school, she worked in a factory or restaurant where one day they had to slice up HUNDREDS of those same peppers. They were wearing gloves and everything. Once she was at, like 575 or something, she rubbed her eyes… her gloves were covered in the juice AND seeds… I think she went to the hospital for, like a day. A ton of crazy shit happened to my mom in high school, either her luck was terrible or she was insane. She was stung by a boxcar jellyfish that year, too!

23:31 I remember an clip where it also looked like cars were driving off the bridge over and over and over again but if you looked closer, it was actually just an roof top that gave the illusion of cars driving off a bridge
@feha92
@feha92 Жыл бұрын
I didn't remember any such clips (as I haven't seen any), but the clip _did_ remind me of that tragedy (which outdate me and I only heard/read about) where it was a foggy night (at 1.30 am) and a boat had accidentally crashed into a bridge... causing it to collapse. The boat and its ppl were fine. Physically. Not so much mentally, as they were stuck at the shore below the bridge (for whatever reason, wikipedia mentions ice-sheets), watching, as car after car plummeted down from above. Having been unable to see that the bridge had collapsed thanks to the fog, until when it was too late and their panicked attempts at braking did nothing but add further ambiance to the poor ppl in that boat. They tried to warn one truck they noticed approaching by firing emergency flares, which got him to stop. Only to then see him resume driving and fall straight off. Iirc none of the drivers survived. The mental casualties increased after 15 minutes, when a truck driver managed to spot the issue in time to stop, and barricade his side... And then had to watch another car approach from the other side. Testimony states that he tried signaling the danger by the only way he could think of - blinking his cars headlight furiously - all in vain. And had to see it plummet down. Took an hour for the other side to get barricaded. The end-result was a total of 8 ppl, through 7 cars. You can find more info if you look up "Tjörnbrokatastrofen". It is not one of the biggest tragedies, not even close, but fuck did it stuck with me in my headspace as I imagined the horror of being one of those that accidentally caused it, gimped of all ability to help (beyond calling emergency services. but they had already done that near instantly - albeit through nonstandard means as their radio was obliterated by falling bridge, that ended up essentially requiring a telephone game with other parties). Or that truck driver both narrowly avoiding death (well, for several crewmembers this was something in common, as they apparently had to avoid bridge falling on their head), and then be forced into the same seat as those below.
