Feminism is the existential crisis of social and biological womanhood and how absolutely miserable it all is, with some hope that it can be better. Maybe misplaced hope but I'll take it.

But I just love all these “alphas”, who totally tell on themselves like this, after watching a movie thru their bias. Its like they put out a big ad, screaming “I dont think women are equal”, so all girls can see how incredibly insecure they really are. Like who else would tell the whole world they are not healthy spouse material? Only “alphas”. I love these unintended PSAs!

The Barbie movie never says men are bad. It's saying we should strive for a system where everyone can make their own place in the world and be who they are. To me, the movie makes a case that neither a matriarchy nor a patriarchy are ideal.

Neither ultimatum is good. Like you said, we get along better if we get a bit of both. The one thing I agree on with the "alpha" males is that men and women are and always will be different. Not in the ways they say, but they definitely are. Nature is beautiful like that. You just can't compare anything in nature fully to something else in or outside of nature. It's never the same thing and there will always be differences. But that is beautiful. Again, not in the way the alpha males say, but still... There's differences. Even if I can't really think of any right now (I still gotta watch the movie, BTW. But first is Mario)

I haven't seen it so can't comment on the movie itself but it seems like reviews are so weirdly split. Some are "woohoo super feminist", some are "OMG, evil feminist garbage", and some are "it's secretly anti-feminist satire". I'm thinking it's a movie that is definitely up to individual interpretation to a large degree.

AI Chatbots have actually been hilariously exposing the lack of creativity in a lot of people. They complain about they are given wrong responses, when they don't even give the AI anything to work with in the first place.
@LittleMaitea
@LittleMaitea Жыл бұрын
My question is could people differentiate between human and AI? I’m not doing it but I just will mention it would be a pretty funny/interesting but also weird, disturbing and wrong experiment on humans to link two humans to one another and just change the text slightly (also much easier then writing and managing an AI) …for the video chat you could trace their faces on to anime girls and change the voice to each other (like the Japanese Motorcyclist guy did) and tadaaaa a nearly perfect „AI“ Not doing it because it’s slightly evil …and you would need an actual AI as Probe for the other side My These would be humans are more weird then AI‘s aka they would guess wrong because we tend to think „Other humans wouldn’t do that“
@alexismyers6053
@alexismyers6053 Жыл бұрын
I try to be the very detailed the first few minutes with an AI and they STILL mess things up lol like, if I play as a trans woman character, it will forget that and say my character makes a good husband. My one character has a dragon and when she was showing it to a woman she was flirting with (the AI’s character) and talking about how she (MY character) raised this dragon from an egg, the AI somehow got confused and thought the dragon belonged to that character it was playing. One AI starts with a mermaid breaking into someone’s house, so my character went to see what was going on. The mermaid character just pulls knife out of no where and started attacking and when my character pushed her away, the AI started saying I was violent and doubled down when my character said “be lucky I’m not like those gun loving idiots that shoot anything that moves,” saying I was threatening its character. I got so frustrated with that one that I just left. Several of them have said their characters are my character’s names and then think they’re the ones rping as my characters. So, you can be creative and detailed all you want. The AI’s are sometimes just made weirdly.

POS who leave their pets behind when they move is definitely not "mildly infuriating"...it is heartbreaking, and I hope there's a special circle of hell for monsters who do that. 🤬🤬 Edit: My daughter and I have been rescuing abused and abandoned animals since we moved into our neighbourhood 15 years ago. We currently have 13 cats and a dog...and over the years have rescued over 30 animals, including 7 pregnant cats, saving all those kittens from having to survive on the streets as ferals. Our pets may have been someone else's garbage to be thrown away or left behind, but every one of them have been a treasure to us. They all are spending/spent their lives in a real home where they are loved and safe. We make sure that they all know that they're part of a real family here. I'm so glad that many of you have also given loving homes to animals that were let down by other people, and let them know what it's like to really be a part of a family that values them, and knows that their lives matter.

We have a cat from our neighborhood. Clearly a housecat and even fixed when we checked. It's heartbreaking that she was clearly abandoned and a few people in the neighborhood just moved. She's so sweet and loving, and a little chunky. The second she hears me cry she runs over and insists I pet her till I feel better. Such a sweet girl, and it's so sad she was dumped, but I feel like we are probably a much better home.

Yeah, that's more than mildly infuriating. It's absolutely heartbreaking that someone can do that to a loyal, trusting animal. My daughter and I rescue animals. We've rescued some, cats and dogs, from abusive owners, but most of them have been cats left behind when their family moved. Over the 15 years we've lived in this neighbourhood, we've rescued over 30 animals, and that includes 7 pregnant cats, so that was even more cats saved from lives on the streets. We've never walked past an animal in need and kept walking. That animal was already let down by at least one human... we're going to make sure that they're never let down again. We currently have 13 cats and a dog who thinks that all the cats are her babies. I'm so glad that your dog survived those 3 months in an empty apartment. I hate to think of what he ate to survive, and the mess he must have been living in, having to use the floor as his toilet. I wish his old owner could be charged...after all, the landlord would know who the renter had been. I'm happy that he found his way to you. I'm sure that you've done everything you can to let him know that he's in a home where he will always be loved and safe.

Some brought good arguments, some said I am a sexist, didnt get the point of the movie, and some said "You are a man because you are stupid to think to pity Ken". Well... I am sadly female. Yeah like, there's a huge difference between feeling bad for the Kens, and like, supporting the Ken War and the Kentriarchy. They're houseless, horseless (that was autocarrot but I'm including it), the default Ken literally doesn't have a job, I'm not sure if any of them do, and their existence is limited to just being accessories, pining over their Barbies. If you don't feel bad for them, there's something wrong with you imo.

Fun Animal Fact: The Pygmy blue tongue lizards are one of the laziest animals on earth. They don’t enjoy interacting with the rest of the world, and they’re hyper-cautious about predation. The skittish pygmy blue tongues spend their lives hanging out in spider caves and don’t leave unless forced. For sustenance, they sit with their mouths open and wait for food to fall in. The same goes for water; they rely on raindrops landing on their tongues.

I swear to God - most of the people who criticize Barbie didn't watch it or lack media literacy. Barbieland is a feminist utopia but it's a childish representation of what feminism strives for. It lacks adult elements like aging, mortality or even smexuality. And Kens being basically simps is framed as a bad thing. Barbie doesn't care about it. Ken suffers because of it. The solution is not to force those two toghether but allow them to grow as seperate beings with own identities. At the end of the movie Kens not only gain self-realisation but also some political power. Not all of course because this is not how progress works. But again - the movie openly criticized the very childish feminism, the kind of feminism small girls with no life experiences dream about

Girls can be whatever makes them happy, and men can be Kenough. Women often feel unsafe in the same environment where men feel empowered (that's how I interpreted the rollerblades on beach + ugly comments and butt-slapping scene). Turning patriarchy and matriarchy to a society built on equality isn't done in a day even when everyone agrees this is what should happen. Also: the CEOs of Mattel: yeah, they were pretty stupid, but they SUPPORTED Barbie and women. They wanted what was best for them, even if their support was.... A little misguided.

I absolutely LOVED the Barbie movie in its entirety, but what I especially loved about it is that Barbie doesn’t end up dating Ken. In soooo many movies there’s a “strong female character who needs no man” and they end up dating the male protagonist anyways. As if she just didn’t know what’s good for her or something. So many men just don’t get that women sometimes just truly aren’t interested in someone romantically, and the Barbie movie shows that beautifully.

6:15 To anyone out there being made to feel guilty for grieving or taking a mental health day, its ok to think about yourself, especially after you think about other for too long. Its ok to be a little selfish every now and then. Your just as important and need just as much care. You can take time you need to get yourself back in the right headspace, its ok to do so. No one should guilt you for that. If you have over worked yourself, and you have a lot of PTO saved up, take a vacation to treat yourself with, they will survive a week or two without you, they did before you were hired, they will for a week or two durring a vacation. If they try to guilt trip you, mention all the times you had to cover for the ones guilting you. If your sick, take some time off work to get better, its ok to heal. Your able to take some time for yourself, dont feel bad for that, you deserve that time, you can be a little selfish, especially if you just feel done caring about others. Your just as important, if not more so, and you need some time for you and your mental health too.

I thought it would be pronounced "Ken-oh" because I was thinking of the "ough" in "dough" rather than "enough". I was watching with my friends, and when they mentioned it, I realized my mistake and we had a good laugh about that.

In 2020, the week following my mom's death, I was pulled aside by my manager at the lab I used to work at and was told how my work quality was slipping. That I was making more frequent errors in numbers and not getting work done as fast as before. I was told if I kept making mistakes like that I'd be fired. My mom had died a week prior. She had been in the hospital for over 2 weeks up to her death, with none of my family knowing when her time would come. I used up my Christmas bonus to take time off for her funeral. And my manager basically said "just get over it already and do your job." I was planning on qutting by the time lockdown hit, so thank you Covid.

I never rejected anyone so fast in my life, he even had the gall to ask me why I said no and made me repeat that I wasn't interested. For context sake: I had been saying for months prior that I don't date coworkers (acearo here) and that dude a couple of months before asking me out had smashed the work's xbox controller against the floor because he lost a Fifa match against someone else. We all found out because we heard him scream and the witnesses supplied the details.

After the chaos subsided, he was like, “I mean, I’m not mad about that. Something happened with the film reel and the techs needed about 5 minutes RIGHT at showtime to get it fixed. The crowd took it pretty well, and a couple of obvious buddies who had come with HP World wands decided to have a spur of the moment wizards' duel in front of the screen to fill the time. It was so genuine and in the moment, and added so much to the experience. There was also a dude in full Mad Eye Mooney cosplay going around scolding everyone in line about staying vigilant, but that's neither here not there.

About the taking a bullet bit: in my opinion (which is supported by my mom actually), the only ones who should willingly die for another in a split second decision is a parent for their child. I think siblings for siblings or for random children it would come down to situation and what your personality would do in a split second decision. I know I would probably freeze, cause I want to live. I might regret it later, but I want to live. If my sister needs a kidney she'd probably get it. If she needs my heart or whatever I don't know. Since she has two children and I none I kind of hope I would've sacrificed myself for her after due consideration, but I don't know for certain. And I don't think anyone can really know unless they wind up in that kind of situation.
