okay WHAT?! Her pretending to be an autistic fan claiming she has "always supported the autism community" is a hundred times worse than someone saying the r word out of ignorance. Using the r word and then stopping and acknowledging it happened shows growth but pretending to be a disabled person to fawn over YOURSELF for being such a great autistic ally is VILE!! I am autistic and I try to give people grace to grow and be better because this world is so abl*ist and it takes time to unlearn it, but Blair simultaneously patting herself on the back for being a great "ally" while pretending to be disabled all in the name of building a throne of morally superiority makes me want to throw hands.

@@astridposey That's very understandable, my first language is arabic and the way I was studying English is by watching random KZbin videos the same way some people would learn it using music or movies. In the early 2000's until like 2016 or something, people were using slurs like they're candy, and of course I never thought they were bad words even though I didn't understand them so I'd be repeating after these people, the only bad words I was aware of being fu:ck and sh:it lmao so I didn't even know that the N word for example was even bad, it seemed to me like any other word, so I don't fault him for not knowing that the words he used were horrible words, it happens. I am confused on this, did he call someone a Re____ or did he drop the N bomb when learning english or did he do both, I watched this video and a previous video on this at about 3:30am and I am unsure what words he used that he is apologizing for. Growing up I definitely said stuff like, "That is so Re_____ed" and only removed that word from my vocabulary entire about 10 years ago. The N-bomb however can honestly say was never in my vocab. When I was a very tiny kid (like maybe 3 at the most?) I told an African American woman with a baby: "my mommy says n**** are cute when they're babies." I genuinely thought it was a compliment. She didn't get mad at me, she was very adult about it and was like "Oh, your mommy says that? Can you get your mommy for me?" My mom denied it but the lady was like "Stop blaming this on your tiny, tiny child who doesn't know better, she CLEARLY heard it somewhere. You already know you're in the wrong or you wouldn't be denying it. Be a better parent." I feel like you can't blame kids/teens for what they hear at home, on TV, or on the internet; they probably don't get what the harm is because they don't have the maturity to do so and might genuinely not realize what they said was hurtful. That's doubly true if it's not even their primary language. You just need to encourage them to be better. And if they do grow up to be better you shouldn't hold their past against them. I know now that my mom was a raging racist, hardly her only terrible quality, and I do my best to not be anything like her. People don't get to choose their skin color or parents but they do get to choose how they behave.

I genuinely do not understand why It's _not okay_ to call someone a retard but it _is okay_ to call someone an idiot. By what I gathered, _both_ are actual classifications about intelligence, but to be classified as an idiot IIRC the requirement of one's IQ is to be even lower than the requirement for a classification for retardation. So if it's about using ableist slurs, why isn't "idiot" not treated to be way, way worse than "retard"?
@MrAntice
@MrAntice Жыл бұрын
@@cy-one This one is easy. "idiot" isn't actually about intelligence aka IQ, but about behaviours and choices. Everyone is an idiot sometimes. either from ignorance, misunderstandings or happenstance. (don't do drugs kids). Retardation is a legal medical term linked to ones ability to reason, measured in the form of IQ.

I have a lot of growing I need to do to fix the mistakes I made with backing someone I genuinely believed was the right choice. I am taking responsibility now though and admitting that I have fucked up by not only backing the wrong horse, but doing nothing when this horse seemingly started to kick and bite people. Yeah, the horse will be a horse, but I could have probably done more. Thank you all, and I understand your hesitancy to forgive me. Yep, people forget about language barriers as well as cultural differences, plenty of words in our language were never offensive because they didn't have the same racist/ableist/etc context, yet when translated they do. Too often people assume someone is being a bad person when all to often they're just not aware that what they're saying is bad, if everyone just learned to take a deep breath and try to explain things to others we'd have way less drama.

Being a European person with a similar age as the Click... it took me a long time and a lot of internet to realise that all the words mentioned are really *that* bad in America. @@austinblackburn377 Yeah, words have different meanings for different people. I say 'fuck' a lot in daily life. Being Dutch, it doesn't mean much. Sure, it's very much not formal and kind of rude, but nobody is going to be extremely upset. I do really have to hold back when I'm talking to my religious American family members. Even worse is that the N-word comes from a word that simply means 'black'. I heard that some fanatics on Twitter have tried to cancel the country 'Montenegro', and I assume the country 'Niger' is only allowed to exist by grace of the pronounciation 'nee-zièr'. So sure, if someone is aware that a word is very offensive and still keeps using it, that's on them. But people can't expect every European teen to understand the cultural weight of English words in America.

28:38 So, that long post Click understandably didn’t want to read is absolutely wild. It’s Blaire under her alt Reddit account going on about how Sad Milk must be lying but she figured out the truth, which pretty much is just “Click said slurs and OT was okay with it and everyone should be mad at them.” It gets pretty deranged. She says, in reference to the r-slur, “as an autist i am mad he would call a mine craft zombie that word.” (Which, lmao at “mine craft zombie.”) But as an actual neurodivergent person I’ve never met another autistic person who self-refers as “an autist”, we’ve been through the whole person-first language debate within the community multiple times. But I’m sure they exist and that’s fine, and not really the point. The issue is Blaire DOES NOT have autism, as far as I’m aware. She’s just… cosplaying disability, cosplaying identity. She continues a bit later with, “blaire is a big supporter of the community and asan.” (She means ASAN: The Autism Self-Advocacy Network.) “I love her videos about exposing autism $peaks. i think Blaire found out about this and fought with him about it.” (In reference to her vague tweet about being stabbed in the back + a stream she saw where he played old videos.) Then there’s a bunch of outrage/theorizing about Sad Milk/linking decade-old videos. Near the end when doing more theorizing about the “real” reason Click and OT left Sad Milk, it comes up again when she says, “one topic’s server has been very inclusive. i think his mods found out and saw that one topic was choosing to stay friends with someone who is okay with making fun of autists and the lgbtqia+ community and left. i know i am going to be leaving and stop supporting him on patreon.” My jaw actually dropped. Insinuating other people should stop supporting a creator is extremely below the belt. A lot of KZbinr’s have alts and do underhanded shוt for attention, not that it’s really acceptable. However, being the one paying people to dig through old videos and anonymously posting them while, among other things, _pretending to be an autistic person offended on behalf of the community_ is really wild. I mean, she literally says “one topic says hes an ally of the community but then still supports a friend and still had a podcast with him when he says these really derogatory and mean things. i think one topic is a liar and a sham and has been pandering to our community if he stays friends with someone like this.” I’m sorry, *OUR* community?! Unhinged. A little surprised she wasn’t also queer and also black in that post. 🤷‍♂️ Just be whatever tf you are on your alt, apparently. As a side note, OT seems chill to me from what I’ve seen, the quotes calling him awful things were just in the name of clear communication. And I absolutely do not support her trying to get people to leave his Patreon. He shouldn’t have anyone trying to interfere with him being supported by fans who love his work. As for Click, this is hands-down the absolute best I’ve seen KZbin drama dealt with. It’s right up with when Jenna Marbles made the fish apology. Great job man. Sorry any of this happened. All the best.

Ugh, the faking autism to try and give herself validity on this whole r-slur debacle is the most projectionist self own she could come up with. I don't really care what anyone calls a minecraft zombie. But take massive issue about falsely claiming identities to further your own agenda in tarnishing another's reputation, under the guise of a fan no less. Like, she's either fully aware what she's doing and simply doesn't care, or she's genuinely been so far up her own arse for so long she doesn't know what's what anymore. I can't help but feel she dislikes these guys so much because they're such naturally charismatic and likeable people, and she's more sour than a lemon. She got popular grifting, but doesn't have the receipts for what she's trying to sell, and now the con has fallen apart.

The way that I see it, if you enjoyed the videos back then without knowing the dirt then it isn't your fault. A lot of this was behind closed doors or off the net so hard for any viewer to really see the signs of the abuse she was giving others. I also see it, if you like the videos then that is okay. The videos were most likely researched by other people working under her who had to deal with her abuse. They were certainly edited together as well (explains why Blair had no idea what a plugin was on the Legal Eagle email) by people under her. All she does is the voice over and put in her sass and extra agenda lines into them. I won't say keep watching as only Blair gets the money directly and most likely will keep it for herself (also explains why she just had 28k laying around for the down payment of a 60k car)

Especially since he's from a different country and culture, plus his native language is different. Not knowing how serious some slurs are actually happens legitimately when your whole cultural landscape is different and you start speaking your 2nd or 3rd language. For example, as a teen, I knew that the n-word (no hard Rs here) shouldn't be said by white European suburb kids like me, but since my only exposure to it was GTA SA and gangster films, I had NO CLUE what the real connotation was. I have since learnt and now understand the reasoning way better. Still not fully, but better. You have to give some leeway to people from completely different places and walks of life, especially if they're willing to learn.

It ended up really opening my eyes to the fact her coverage on many of her topics was about as reliable as a twitter thread from a guy with an anime avatar, fun to hear about for thirty minutes but probably inaccurate in a lot of places. It would be one thing if she was very good about following up on old topics with any new information she gets, or slowed down and increased her research phase to cover her weaknesses in certain topics, but everything i've seen recently suggests she takes criticism pretty poorly.

Heartbreaking indeed. I’ve experienced that level of betrayal before. It’s absolutely soul crushing. Someone you once trusted betraying you like that destroys your ability to trust others, possibly forever. You second guess nearly every relationship. You’re always questioning in the back of your mind whether or not someone else is capable of hurting you that badly. If they’ll take your trust and instead turn around and stab you in the back with it, like your trust is a weapon for them to wield against you in the most hurtful ways possible. It’s hard to recover from. I feel immense empathy for anyone who has experienced it. I’ll never understand how someone can do something like this to others, let alone someone they supposedly once considered a “friend.” That someone can find this satisfying and fulfilling to do to another person, as if it is their life force. It’s beyond mental illness, it’s evil.

As a neurodivergent gay person... I can't hold the things someone said *ten years ago* against them, much less as *a teenager.* I can barely hold a grudge that long against people who have harmed me _personally._ And that takes, like, trauma. I _can't_ be angry about that here, because that person is _dead,_ because none of us are the same people we were 10 years ago (hell, most of us aren't the same people we were before COVID), and in Click's case, your actions since have spoken to your repudiation of that behavior a thousand times over. Unless it still bothers you, you have nothing to apologize for, and screw anyone who demands you do after this long. Not that I speak for the LGBT+ or neurodivergent communities 'cuz we're not a monolith, but like, logically? Any time I hear someone bring up such old "evidence" (like what happened with James Gunn or even other KZbin personalities like Lindsay Ellis), I already know it's the most flimsy, bad faith smear campaign. If I were using that as a source in a research paper, I'd be asked to cite something more recent and relevant instead. Unless that person's actions in the past are consistent with their personality in the present (which usually means that person has gotten *worse* with audacity rather than better with maturity), it's just kicking a dead horse in the hopes some grubs will fall out. If anything it shows personal growth which is something worth _celebrating,_ and says way worse about the person bringing it up. The only way that evidence can be persuasive is if someone wants to live in a world where literally _nothing_ someone can do will be forgiven or forgotten. Ever. No matter how much they grow or how many times they apologize, the fact that that it can be brought up _a decade_ after the fact means it's not actually about "holding them to account" at all, but rather about holding _ammunition._ It's narcissistic, and fatally self-unaware, 'cuz one has to assume everyone is as manipulative of the facts as they are to find value in the "evidence" and _still_ believe it paints them in a good light. We're not talking even about an event that caused lasting damage that still affects the world today, we're talking about something said by _a teenager,_ who barely spoke English, on a video you have to _dig_ for. Like, Click didn't assault or kill someone, he didn't spill a thousand gallons of oil in the ocean or build a pipeline through sacred lands, I doubt he even advocated violence, he just said a couple "naughty words" in poor taste. If anyone _was_ ever under such extreme conditions that an impersonal comment _could_ cause them tangible harm, then it's just the straw that breaks the camel's back at worst, not the two-ton lead weight that compromised it in the first place, so let's calm down there, 'cuz who is this BS protecting really. There are far more destructive things to be outraged about and far better uses of energy than drumming it up for that. It just frustrates.

I can’t express how sad seeing Click in the 5 minute add in has made me feel. When you have gone through an event that has been painful, makes you doubt your self worth and is a possible trigger of a major depression is a dreadful experience. You then start to feel like you can breathe and are coming to terms with it. When you then discover (sometimes years later) that a person you were close to was actually behind that event it feels like your whole world crashes back down, but hits even harder because it rocks your ability to trust. I found this absolutely heartbreaking 😢

I watched a Trevor Noah comedy special where he discussed the N word and how it didn’t have the same meaning because he grew up in South Africa. He shared a lot about the racism in South Africa and the slurs from there. In fact, he spoke a lot about cultural differences like him not knowing a napkin in America is the same as a napkin in British English (napkin=diaper in UK for those who don’t know. The point is, how do you expect a teenage Swedish kid whose first language isn’t English not knowing the cultural meaning of words from a country he’s not from is not unreasonable. He owned up to the mistake and made steps to correct it. Can any of us say we didn’t say stupid shit when we were teenagers?

I know you suspected she was making alt accounts to generate fake hate comments about you, but to find hard evidence must have hit you so hard. To not just suspect but KNOW that someone you once considered a friend has spent the last couple of years going out of her way to try and ruin your life must be horrifying. I'm just glad that she dug her own grave on this one and now there is no way for her to lie and manipulate her way out of this one. All it takes is for one person to stand up (and I know it can't always be right away, because unfortunately, her popularity grants her a shield and all her paranoid manipulative actions to prevent people from saying things against her). But thanks to you there has been a ripple effect of people finally feeling comfortable enough to finally come out and say what she has done to them.

I was a fan of illuminaughti for 2-3 months, then I decided she gives off too much of "holier than thou" vibe and I stopped watching. Around one year later she (was it her?) dropped the ball with some editor, and now, another week later we're here with multiple people being thrown by her under the bus. I have no idea what the hell is going on, it looks like hot sewage bursting out of pipes left and right and I'm here under my umbrella, happy that my gut feeling about her was right. In the end, it's an entertaining mess to watch. For once comments under her videos don't praise her like a god.
