Reminds me of obsessive Munroing days with my brother-in-law. After driving up from down south we went up whatever the weather. Usually got to the top but not always. I have a soft spot for the Lochays. Thanks again.

Creag Mhor is a nice viewpoint and an enjoyable walk once you are up onto the broad ridge, definitely worth saving for a good day!.

Tough luck Charlie. We've been dying to do these two for what seems like an age now. Like you guys we're waiting on better weather. Hopefully you'll get up them again soon, because we would love to have seen your exact route before venturing onto them. Ta Jim.

Nice one Charlie for getting oot in they grim conditions. I've still to do they 2 & the bog is giving me the fear. Might break them up with a wild camp or do them in winter. Cheers 👍

Charlie Your some man getting out and about. There must be nearly 30 years since i was round that area. Mind the pipeline fine. A wise choice to make for shelter. Its blowing a steady 60mph in Orkney. cheers

Nice video Charlie. It looked absolutely miserable up there. The weather's been pretty poor and unpredictable lately. Hopefully itll settle down soon and you can get back and do those pair! Cheers. Kris.

Shame you had to bail but as you say it’s always there for another day. We did the same route many years ago one New Year and the conditions underfoot were hard frozen ground which made for easy going, but no view. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Graham, Fortunately our return visit a few weeks later had a better outcome, at least we didn't get soaked this time. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fautaauArrWpopI Cheers

We got absolutely battered that day on Stob Ghabhar. Like you say the hills are always there for another day. Still good to get out though.

As you say Charlie they are there for another day, very bleak up there not very nice at all. The Autumn colours starting to appear lower down too. Take care. Mick

Hi Charlie. It's always disappointing to have to retreat from a Munro, but worse still if you've travelled all the way from South Wales! But fair play you had a go and forecasts are often wrong and tend to err on the pessimistic side these days. I was very lucky on these 2, approached them from Kenknock via Badour in April 2011, then Ben Lomond the next day. Turned out to be the last trip with those guys I'd walked Munros with for 14 years, mainly a solo mission from then on. By now I feel it's better that way, I feel I get more out of the experience by doing it alone. Here's a film of our route back then:- kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4nQoKdmnbyDi7s Best wishes, Iwan.

@@charliemccartney7055 Thanks Charlie. Only a matter of time before you catch nice weather for these. It might sound strange but by now I prefer walking the majority of the remaining Munros on my own, far easier that way. Hoping I get a weather window for Braeriach and Beinn Mheadhoin end of October. Good luck, Iwan.
