So after that amount of time and usage, has anything changed from my initial review?

@@BlondieHappyGuyIt's tempered glass, the edges of the glass are the weakest point of the glass. If something with a high enough hardness hits the edge it will break and "shatter" into tiny pieces. For example a piece of metal hitting the glass on the edge can break it without a ton of force. Just be careful not to hit the edge of the glass.

@@BlondieHappyGuy the stock hot end works perfectly fine. It will print all of those materials just fine. The only thing I think needs to happen with TPU is printed straight into the end and not through the bowden tube. if you swap in one of these hot ends, you don’t need to flip-flop back-and-forth. The calibration is just a couple of push buttons on the screen and it does the rest.

There is no doubt in my mind that this video will be watched for quite a while as consumers find reviews to help them decide which machine to buy, and they should. The only thing i'd like to ask some reviewers do is mention the fragile ribbon used to attach the display, I ripped mine withint LITERALLY two minutes of trying to install it and my wife pointed out the red box that mentions how easy it is to break when setting up. I feel like they could have just used a(n) ribbon extension with a quick plug-in for the display and saved so many people the heart ache waiting for replacement parts in the mail. Thank you frankly built for being one of, if not the most reliable channel and creator to go to when looking for information and a relatable video experience on these kinds of printers!

Love your content. Watched this video while printing on my K1 max. Love mine as well. Agreed its a true workhorse. I switched fully to the PEI plate but went third party to save a few bucks. I print mostly PETG followed by PLA, followed by PLA Silk. PETG sticks to the PEI plate amazing well. PLA and silk do too but you have to rub the PEI plate after each use with alcohol and a 0000 Steel Wool pad. Then I get zero issues between prints.

Bought one based off your review , while I am waiting on my A1 heat bed replacement. it was great for about 20hrs and then constant issues kept popping up. Motherboard shutting down ,clicking noises from belts, heat bed level was super warped even after heat soaking. Going to return. Hoping they get it right with the next gen of the Max. For almost 1k there should be no excuse for bad QC. Maybe you should do one of those anonymous purchase videos like LTT or Gamer Nexus does with PC's to see if they are hand picking the models they send reviewers.

I have had horrible luck with adhesion on both my K1 Max and K1C. The 'glue' plate A would either stick too well with glue, or not at all without. I tried the textured B plate and it was worse. Finally, I found success with using a green Scotchbrite pad on the smooth plate. It didn't really affect the quality of the print, but removed the need for glue while giving great adhesion. I have never had issues with adhesion on various textured plates in the past on my Ender 3 or Ender 3 Neo Max.

I myself have had a K1-Max for about 6 months and for what he was unable to speak about at the end for different materials I can add. I have done Nylon-CF prints at 300mm/s and had great results. this printer while not listed as one for said materials is yet to show any struggle towards different materials from PLA. That being said it has struggled with different PLA brands. My recomendation is don't cheap out on the filament type you use. somewhere around $25 a kilo has done wonders for me.

I've been in the market for a new printer for quite a while now. Bambu was my first choice up until... Yesterday? Perfect timing too because I was basically looking to buy, now. I've been a Creality fan for a while. Years in fact. Never not liked anything I've owned with their name on it. I even have the Ferret 3 scanner. Works great. I have 2 Ender 3 S1 Pros on a Sonicpad right now. One works great, the other is giving me issues. I think the gantry is loose (it did get shoved around a bit recently and has like 5 weeks on it of solid print time since it's been serviced..) but I don't want to dig the entire area out and disturb the other printers to take it out right now. I got the two Ender 3s, an Artillery Sidewinder X1 (my first printer, still works), an Elegoo Mars 3, and the Elegoo Mercury dryer/curing thing all packed onto two small card tables in my shed / workshop. It's, of course the hardest one to reach way in the back.. I love them and the one needs some work but they don't need to be replaced but.. They also do if that makes sense. They're getting old. Well, long story short, this video was the nail in the coffin. Order placed, K1 Max. I heard rumors of a multi color add-ons coming for it soon, that didn't hurt my choice.

@@guitarflyer172 that's basically the same information as I have been getting. I had CR-10S's and I spent the majority of the time tinkering and fixing rather than printing which is what I don't want. I these 2 printers are much of a muchness in that they do pretty much the same thing, but maybe the Bambu with it's proprietary hardware and software are a little bit ahead of Creality? I think I'm ultimately going to go with a P1S to get back to printing as I've missed it dearly, with then a view to getting a K1 Max or similar later on in the year. I say similar because I'm sure we're going to see a fair few more printers coming out over the next 12 months

I purchased the K1 Max about a week ago. I printed several prints with the white hyper pla filament with absolutely no issues. I change the filament to the black hyper pla, and right away a got a jam in the aluminum heat sink right before going into the hotend. I disassembled everything on the carriage down to the heat block and removed the jam. This process of jamming with that black filament happened 4 times in a row. After that I put the white filament back in and it printed perfectly again. Anybody have any ideas? I love the printer but I can't keep printing from that one white spool all the time. Hoping somebody with more K1 Max experience has solved this issue. PS - I do run the hyper PLA with the top glass removed. I have done both and it didn't make a difference. Thanks guys!

@@WhoIsJohnnyLange so far nobody has responded with a fix for this on any of my posts. I did see a video where one guy said that it jams in the heat sink because it is getting too hot. My guess is that it is getting hot enough to slightly deform the filament in the heat sink allowing it to bulge and jam. I do make sure that my glass top is off when using the PLA. I was running my hotend at 220 C, but have lowered it to 215 C. I am going to put the black PLA back in soon and give it another try. My thought is to keep it cooler, so I am going to turn the hotend down to about 205 C and maybe turn on the fan for the chamber to suck the hot air out. With the glass top off, it should pull cooler air into the chamber and hopefully keep the PLA cool until it gets to the hotend where it can then be melted. Hopefully I'll be on the right track with this process. I have a lot of black stuff that I would like to print. Good luck. If you find anything out, let me know.

This printer is $470 on Ebay right now. I was worried if I got this it would be plagued by the same problems. The K-1 was plagued with until the K1C came out. Is this correct? Should I buy? Has everything been fixed?

@yeshua5707 because all the people I talked to and most of the reviews all said that it was pretty much a normal thing for this printer to arrive with the busted door. Why creality didn't take measures to prevent this is beyond me. I've heard that they ship better now but don't know if it's true

Question - When I watched Uncle Jessy's review (and partial destruction) of the K1 Max, he complained that he had to "root" the printer in order for it to accept Orca slicer, and even then a bunch of features were disabled and unavailable because he wasn't using Creality Print. You didn't mention any of that in this video when you were recommending people use Orca with this printer. So, the question is: Did you have to jump through the same hoops as Uncle Jessy to get this printer to work with Orca, and did you lose functionality? Or did you just figure out a better way to do it without all that nonsense? Because, honestly, if I spent that amount of money on a printer, I'd be pi$$ed if I had to "root" it and do a bunch of half-a$$ crap just to get it to work with my preferred slicer. Just thought I'd ask, since you liked this printer enough to purchase 4 of them. For context, I'm looking at potentially getting into 3D printing as a hobby (Yes, I watched your price-based recommendations video - thanks for that!), and the K1 Max is on my list (along with the X1 Carbon). I have the money to spend and my thinking is this: If I'm just getting into this, I want something high quality, that's going to be big enough to do whatever I want to do for the foreseeable future (minis, vases, cosplay, props, etc.), I want it to have easily reproducible, excellent prints, and I want it to just work well out of the box. I don't want my hobby to be tinkering with and/or constantly fixing my 3D printer. I want it to be printing fun/useful things, learning slicers and modelling, etc. Sorry for the long post, but thanks for putting all of this cool content out there. I like the concise, no-BS nature of your videos. Really helpful and entertaining!

Got my K1Max for Black Friday and it's been printing my Mk39 armor basically non stop since then. Had some bed adhesion issues at the beginning but the glue cured that. Lately I've been running into clogged nozzles, or some kind of issue where the filament gets stuck between the feeder and the nozzle. Doesn't take too long to clear, but it's really annoying when it happens during a print. The last pieces of the right thigh took an entire spool because of failed prints halfway through 3 times in a row.

Frank, what is the big draw to a K1 Max over the QiDi X Max 3? Larger with a heated chamber etc.. still fast… orca slicer etc.. slightly cheaper. I realize you primarily print in PLA so things like a heated chamber don’t matter but otherwise it seems very similar but larger and cheaper. I also have heard numerous times that qidi has great support. Thoughts?

Any idea how or where I can obtain one. Thanks Again.
