Great information Frank. Thanks for the video. I’m gonna hold out for the next Bambu and hope it has a solution to the filament waste on color changes along with those LONG print times.
@meadmaker45253 сағат бұрын
You know, when you look at the AMS on the P1S/X1C, it fits at about the same width as the printer. When you look at the K2 Plus, their 4-spool CFS looks small (because the K2 is so big, obviously). They could've probably made a 5-spool version within the footprint and made that another selling point...350mm-cubed and a 5-color CFS. They might have missed a trick there. Still, I'm really happy to see something this size out there, and with something resembling pretty good quality prints. I wonder if stuff like this and the Qidi Plus4 will spur Bambu to kick it up a notch?
@DUSKtillDAN6662 күн бұрын
I had to come here straight away when i saw this video as i know you'll absolutely give a honest review. Im very tempted with one of these but i think im going to hold out for Bambulab. The way i see it us Creality are now chasing Bambulab. But Bambulab are taking their time. You just gotta look at their first attempts and you know what they bring out next is going to definitely be up and beyond Creality with extra new features. I think im going to play the game and wait for Bambu. Its not that long to wait. Thanks for the video bud, was definitely good to see.

@brianswille2 күн бұрын
Nathanbuildsrobots too
@NathanBuildsRobotsКүн бұрын
@@brianswille Yeah, I did mention it, but I don't think the bed falling down is too much of an issue. Reason being, if the printer ever loses power it will need to re-home to figure out where the Z axis is, and if it homes to the bottom it can get its bearings straight before resuming the print. If it homes at the top, it is unable to determine it's Z coordinate while a half finished part is inside the machine. I did see on Sam's video that he had a gap upon resuming the print. That was likely caused by the print shrinking while the printer was shut down, and when it picked up where it left off there was suddenly a larger gap. I think it could have been salved with a custom Z offset command, but that's getting pretty technical. Maybe it could touch off on the part using the nozzle loadcell to figure out where it should resume.

I bought a K1c based in part on your reviews as my first 3d printer. I now have a Sovol sv08 and love that I can print a full size Storm Trooper helmet in one piece. I wanted a multi color printer, so I ordered a K2 plus. I’m just a hobbyist getting into to cosplay and the large format printers work really well for me. The sv08 does great with any single color PLA print. I want the K2 to handle large prints in other filaments. I may have to do a second ST in ABS.

For me, the deal breaker is the price on this thing, and not my well-earned distrust of Creality always failing to dot all the i's and cross all the t's. The K1 Max has been a mixed bag, but still firmly in second place ahead of the QIDI, the SV-08 and the Kobra 2 Max. If Bambu delays past 1Q'25, I'll probably get one of these, assuming they don't jack the price up. Otherwise, I'll bide my time on the Bambu, because I know it will work. I have five of them in four different models and they all just work.

To fix your support material being stuck, apparently you can print your support material in a special different type of plastic designed to be support material. So it can sit under or ontop of your PLA with zero layer height difference and once it cools it just comes off because the 2 different types of plastic don't adhere to each other.
@DUSKtillDAN6662 күн бұрын
Don't get sucked in to expensive support material. You can actually use petg as your support interface material with zero z gap between it and your model and it breaks away like butter. Well maybe not butter but it comes away easy and leaves a great undamaged surface on your model. You gotta use petg as support interface when printing in pla. You can do it the other way around too but I've found that doesn't work as well
@mpawood2 күн бұрын

Dying for an affordable 'filament recycler'. Drop a bunch of poops in one end, get a roll of PLA out the other. Color doesn't matter, use it for test prints, prototypes or supports.
