Creality K1 Unboxing and Setup || First Impressions

Today, we unbox and set up the newest line of printers from Creality, the K1. This printer has a rated maximum speed of up to 600mm/s, and even going at those high speeds, the quality of the prints don't suffer even a little. This printer really took me by surprise as I have heard many negative things on the internet about them, but I was unable to replicate any of the issues that some have found.

So we just got one of these and it just BLOWS my mind watching it run at that speed on the test prints! Being a regular shopper with you guys, I use the Cron and Wanhau PLA and PETG. I still struggle with the PETG on my own printer though. But anyways. What slicer do you guys use and are the default PLA settings fine with your filaments? I'm trying to get a dude at the office trained up to use it so I don't have to struggle, so really just want to fastest and simplest method.

I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying your printer! We either use Ultimaker Cura or Creality Print to slice our files, for both Wanhao and Cron PLA, a nozzle temp of 200°C is perfect, and a bed temp of 60°C should be fine as well, that can drop to 45°C of you want. Print at speeds of about 300mm/s as this is the fastest reliable speed for the K1, simple parts could be printed at faster speeds as there is less that can go wrong, but that is up to your judgement. @@DeanosRides 10°C above or below 200°C should still work perfectly fine, anything more than that will start creating some issues with the finish of the print.

What was the speed you printing your own models at?

I set it to 600mm/s in the slicer, I wanted to see what the print quality would look like at the max speed that they advertise the printer can print at

Man!!!!! Those 3 lil screws are extremely frustrating as hell to try and take out. I literally can’t feel anything when I put the wrench in the little holes on each side

They are quite annoying to remove yea, if you have a magnetic allen key, they should be easier to remove as well, just be sure that you are also using the correct size allen key as to not damage the threads on the screws. Enjoy your printing!!

@@3DPrintingStorecozaI have a feeling none of the 3 screws are in mine & idk how concerned I should be with this & if I should contact support & see what they say…. A lot of people are saying to return & exchange it for another one.

So the 3 screws you should be worried about removing before Turing on the printer are in the back middle, front left and front right on connecting the build plate to the bottom of the machine, they also guide you to them with yellow arrows pointing to them. They are all silver which distinguishes them from the other screws which should not be removed. You just have to unscrew all 3 silver screws as shown in the user manual, once they are out, you don't have to worry about putting them back in, and you are free to use your printer

Have you maybe tried applying glue or hairspray to the bed to help with the adhesion?

error 2564: hot end problem. This machine is very bad. Also Extrusion problems

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't had a pleasant experience with this machine, there might be a thermistor issue with your model. It could also be that you have the version 1.0 K1, which was known for its extruder issues, but they have been fixed with the newer version metal extruder.
