Glad to see you back. I personally always liked your style of painting videos since they were kind of loose guides rather than strict tutorials. As someone who also just got into printing terrain, I'd love seeing you cover that as well.

Thanks! Yeah the interesting thing is: I think I need to figure out how to actually paint 3D terrain well - it’s going to be challenging.

I have a sister in the US so I was able to get in on that big Anycubic sale. Of course new and better printers are probably the reason for these sales, but I'm excited. I want my own box of printed and unpainted minis.

Wohoo! Jarrett is back! Great video, know that "hmm, this pile of unpainted 3D printed miniatures and terrain seems to keep growing"-feeling... If you want to spread out more regarding topics, then that's definitely what you should do. I have really enjoyed your painting videos/tutorials, so I definitely wouldn't mind if you sprinkled some of those in the mix too, going forward. :-)

Oh my, I'm so glad the Instagram logarithm glitched and showed me one of your latest posts. Please do some more painting videos, I liked them a lot! Anyways, it's so good seeing you posting here and on other platforms again. Thanks for sharing your opinion on the 3D printers too!

I have gotten a lot from your miniature painting videos so I would love to see more. I would also love to see videos on 3d printing as well as that is something that I am very into. Glad to see you back.

Chitu has a monochrome screen upgrade kit for this printer for around $50. I got this printer and am shortly ordering it, as it HALVES print time. still, its great with dialed in settings and VROOM! tweaks. me and the wife love it :) been doing Trek Models, D&D dice, and im currently in the middle of a Fallout 4 diorama. I use Siraya Tech Fast White and Simple clear, along with a cheap ink kit. i never have to use the metal scraper on it, and just use a tiny pry with offset needlenose tweezers, and the plastic spatula (less need to relevel the bed!). The paintbrush is all natural, so the isopropyl alcohol and resin wont melt it.

I was wondering if you'd come back! And with a bang too! You should definetly keep the painting tutorials but compliment them with a "let's talk about....." aproach with complementing segments! Keep it up, and welcome back!

Jarrett, great to see the new video. I keep wanting to get into 3D printing, but I know I don't have time, or space, for another hobby, and I am sure this one would take over. I can't wait to see how the channel develops. PLA printing lines would drive me bonkers, I would think. With my luck, I'd end up knocking myself out trying acetone steaming or something.

Side note, theres probably a lot in the 3d community that subscribe to the same Patreons... make painting vids on one of their releases a month or more!

Really great to see you back. Thanks for the review. I’ve been banging out terrain on an Ender3 and I want a resin printer but I’m concerned about the odor and the cleaning. I’m not super worried about chemical exposures but I am concerned about the smell and the mess. Interesting to hear you say the smell doesn’t bother you.

Finally your back yay Would be great if you did a tutorial on the 3dprinted terrain to help us all minimise the layer lines in the final prints Im hopefully getting a cr ld02 soon I cant wait to finally get a resin printer for minis Maybe a vid on places you get your minis to print im always after modern minis but they are almost all fantasy or scifi

Although I really enjoyed your painting tutorials, a channel dedicated to 3D Printing for the Table Top Hobby would be very nice to see (I don’t know one who does it well). So, Not only Hardware Reviews but how to print (settings etc) and post processing as well (how to smooth out layer lines etc).

michaelinOZ thanks! Danny at 3D Printed Tabletop and Greg at 3D Printing Pro are definitely good options there, but hopefully I could add something too :)

For someone that's just getting into 3D printing and doesn't need one right this second would you recommend simply waiting for the new wave of monochrome screen printers?
@TheMiniJunkie

DUMBevery1saccusinme yeah I think that would make sense tbh.

I got into mini painting through 3D Printing, and I've been wondering how well printed minis compare to commercially produced ones from companies like GW and Privateer Press. What has your experience shown you?
@TheMiniJunkie
@TheMiniJunkie 4 жыл бұрын
The highest quality ones from companies like GW are still, IMO, better than 3D printed ones. However, that quality gap is narrow and getting narrower pretty quickly. The awesome thing about 3D printed ones is there is just so much variety to choose from now, and pre-supported minis take away the headaches - it’s really easy to print them now and is only getting easier.
@GentleGiantDK
@GentleGiantDK 4 жыл бұрын
Yup, with all the different companies and people having Patreons, you can basically find any type of mini to print (still mostly fantasy, but there are several sci-fi ones too). Definitely easier than to have to hunt for a specific model from a commercial manufacturer. The place where those still have the edge is slightly crispier minis (but, like Jarrett said, the gap is narrowing) and you'll often have an easier time finding minis for a whole army (e.g. regiments) from them (although there are also people creating minis for 3D printing that can be used in a coherent unit).

How does the build plate size compare to the other resin printers in the same price range?
@TheMiniJunkie

Simon Goldie about the same as the Mars, maybe the tiniest bit bigger, but effectively the same.
