littlequake He added some oil straight to the pan. Do NOT do that! You will mess with the integrity of the product and dilute the preservatives that keep shit from growing. Scoop some out with a CLEAN spatula and put it on the back of your hand or on some wax paper then add a drop of oil and mix it up.

Honestly, do NOT comment on here that she looks better with this or that, or not to do this because it doesn't look natural, No stop. She does not where it for you nor anyone else she wears it because she fucking loves make-up, and she loves experimenting with it. She's gorgeous either way and I cannot stress that enough. You guys ridicule her for literally everything and honestly , if you don't like and/or agree with how she does it, leave. Stop watching the video and click on someone else's. Jaclyn's one of THE baddest bitches here on KZbin and you can step the hell back before you start pointing things out that you don't like about her.

This is literally how I feel when I watch some of gossmakeupartist's videos :/ He's an amazing makeup artist, but he's always shitting on certain looks & saying this is better than that. Like, okay you have your preferences, but don't say something is better so people should do it.
@Waldorfdarling9 жыл бұрын
No it doesn't work that way at all. If she wants to be professional she must be open to criticism. This is a comments section and all comments that are voiced politely are allowed. If people don't like it and don't find the video helpful then it isn't their problem, it means Jaclyn needs to take it into consideration. That is if your audience is important to you, of course.

Hey Jaclyn, I know you're super busy but I would be so grateful if you could possibly please help me with something in your next video... This is gonna sound wild, but for the life of me, I can't figure out whether I have oily skin, dry, normal, or combination, and I can NOT figure out why my foundation won't apply nice and flawlessly. I cleanse, I exfoliate often (my skin responds very well to that), I use a Clarisonic, I have zero blemishes, I moisturize and then wait about 20 minutes before applying my foundation, I use a clean Sigma F80, I first pat it on and then buff it in, exactly like you do. I swear I'm doing EVERYthing right but not only do I always end up needing a few more pumps of foundation than you EVER have to use for full coverage, but my face just ends up looking texture-y and pore-y. I don't get it! I think a ton of people would benefit from a few tips and tricks on how to figure out their skin type, including me! I love you so much and I hope you're able to give me some advice!

MamaMia27 Look up Jordan Liberty's video- "Why you shouldn't contour with bronzer". I didn't understand the difference either, until I watched this. I'm not saying this is the right way, but in my personal opinion, it looks most natural. I know people have difference preferences, and I'm not saying it's wrong.
@kandimoon179 жыл бұрын
***** I understand. I'm not trying to tell people that they would look better with 'this or that'. They know their skin better than someone on the internet does. So, if they think bronzer looks better on them than a contour, that's great! I'm not trying to tell people what they should and shouldn't do. What they did with the information is their decision.
@hannahsmith54429 жыл бұрын
Well, Jaclyn has a very warm skin tone, which is why she wears foundation with so much yellow in it, and so she HAS to use warmer contour shades for it to look natural. If she used a cooler tone, it would look like a stripe of gray on her cheek, and very unnatural. It's not that she "likes using a bronzer as a contour" - she has to use a neutral-warm toned contour shade in order for it to bled into her skin tone, but it is still contouring! The way she uses the Chanel bronzer on an everyday basis is bronzing, whereas the way she sculpted out her cheekbones in this to add shadow was contouring

+Michelle That brush cost me 3 dollars and I was surprised how well it worked for drugstore but I knew there had to no something wrong with it. After using it lightly for about 4 months (I've washed every other week) I decided to wash it at the 4 month mark and used dish soap and baby oil as usual and used a tiny bit more oil this time for softer brushes and the brush literally FELL apart. The hairs came out in chunks with some glue. Horrible.

Within seconds I'm annoyed by all these comments. So what if she use warmer tones to contour? THATS WHAT SHE CLEARLY LIKES. The MUA that you are all naming in your comments who have an issue with warm contouring shades are MUA who work on runways and photoshoots so yes when they contour it's cooler and more natural because that's what runway and photos call for. EVERY SINGLE HUMAN IS DIFFERENT. Different products work well on different people. So stop judging so harshly what she's doing or any other youtuber is doing. It's their preference. It's what they like. I know a lot of them state that you don't have to use these products. You don't have to do it like them but this is what THEY like. I agree there are ALOT of youtubers giving miss information and reppin and hyping up products they shouldn't but still you all are ruthless with the comments you leave. Be a decent human and stop spreading so much hate. This ain't for you? Click off of it baby. You love it? Give it a thumbs up and spread the love. There are more important things in life then getting on KZbin and critiquing someone to pieces because you feel like you're entitled to it.

So, I just decided to try this technique on one side of my face. I'm in shock. Literally made me face appear thinner than my other. I'm already tried playing with cream countouring, but I never REALLY saw a big difference. Well, I must have been missing something because this way was like magic. Totally using this for an event this weekend. Thanks Jaclyn!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a more hydrating pore minimizing primer?!? I have dry skin on my nose and after a little while it starts to look flaky and the foundation makes it look worse. I don't understand because I exfoliate and moisturize! I've been dealing with this problem for a while, so if anyone has any suggestions at all to help let me know! I usually just use a pore minimizing primer on my nose, then use another primer everywhere else. Thanks! :)

Also some good foundations for dry skin! If anyone reads this, haha :)

I have the same problem! I use the BareMinerals Prime Time primer, and for foundation I use the L'Oreal True match Lumi (:

I am dry to and what I do is moisturize, use a moisturizing primer, and then a Pore Minimizing primer over that. It works for me. If you have a sephora close or ULTA I would see if you can get samples and try before you buy I have a sample of the Laura Mercier Primer and it is really nice, didn't think I would care for it but I like it or try the Too Faced Replenish Primer And then for Pores I would get a sample of the Benefit Professional and the new Smashbox Pore Minimizing primer Now for foundations I am still on the hunt for the perfect one. I use Revlon Colorstay Normal but have been trying to test out more. Just recently got the new Loreal Pro Matte and it is actually really nice, I just use the steps above I mentioned with primers. I then set it with Urban Decay or Mac setting spray to set it and then the NYX Dewy Spray to make it less matte. Hope that helps. :)

Maggie SFX I've been wanting to try the BareMinerals primer! Do you like it? I use the L'oreal Lumi too! I don't understand why because without any foundation it's as smooth as can be, my nose is really the only place that looks bad, I don't even want to put makeup on it! Jessica Denice Ooh that's a great idea to use the moisturizing primer before the pore minimizing one! I'm going to try it out tomorrow, fingers crossed! :) I've been wanting to try the Too Faced One, and the Smashbox actually! I've heard mixed reviews of the Smashbox one though. Does Ulta give samples of specific products if you asked? I thought only Sephora did! I have the Benefit Porefessional, but it seems to dry my nose out a little bit :/ I haven't used the Revlon Colorstay in a while, I'll have to purchase it again. Does the matte foundation accentuate your dryness at all? Or does the setting sprays even it out? I have the Urban Decay and Mac, I'll have to try out the NYX one. Thank you so much for your response! :)

I have very dry skin and I can't seem to find a primer that woks very well except for a combination of two things that Mac setting spray infused with mineral and the viteman E spray from the body shop they work so well. Also there is a thing called parifin facials witch is hot wax that has been infused with collagen it is so moisturizing and good for your skin I'm not sure how much they are because I just get them at school(cosmetology) but I know many places do offer them

I use the Bobbi brown foundation sticks for contouring as well!! It's awesome for dry skin! I use the Ben Nye Banana Powder for highlighting too it's similar to the Anastasia Banana powder :)

when u said u had no foundation on I was like wtf ?!?!!,!,!.?. how
@mingle279 жыл бұрын
I don't know how is possible to do this with fair skin. My skin is the shade of that highlight stick if not lighter. Any contour bronzer or whatever just looks dirty on me or looks ridiculously obvious. If i need to highlight to counter the contour i can't find a shade to do it. So I'll have cake face or dirty face. Either way i wish this could work.
@sharynspanjer9 жыл бұрын
You can always use a setting powder that is one or two shades darker than your skin to contour :)
@ceira85669 жыл бұрын
I am as fair as fair can be as well! Use actual foundation to use as contour, that way you can really choose what works best for your skin tone. I can't use any contour palettes as well, I use Mac foundation powder as a bronzer and as a contour color. Just like Jaclyn said in the video she recommends Bobbi Browns foundation stick as a bronzer/contour. Just because we're fair doesn't mean we can't contour we just have to be more resourceful! Hope this helps :)

You should check out the Glam and Gore channel! Mykie recently posted a video basically outlining 'pale skin problems' and there is a great highlighter she mentions (I think the brand is Kryolan). It's so tricky when your skin IS the colour of highlight, I feel your pain! Xxx

***** I recently turned 50, and both of my kids are out of the house. Having said that, I've been trying to get back into makeup again like I did before I had kids (use to be Id never leave the house without makeup on). We didn't have primers and all the new fancy things out there now.. so trying to learn what things are for, what shade I need, different tools for this or that... on a budget.... is frustrating. As an older person I feel kind of left out when I watch your (and KathleenLights) vids because you have no wrinkles, so when I try to do what you do and hide the wrinkles it just does not work. I have very light dry skin, and the lady at Ulta sold me a little pot of IT Bye Bye Under Eye in Light shade. I use the Neutrogena Hydro Boost under my eyes twice a day, but that IT under eye stuff just accentuates the wrinkles and doesn't really hide the dark circles. *cry*.

I just bought this L'oreal foundation - visible lift blur, and it's marketed for more mature skin. I'm 24 and didn't need it, but was just curious. I was wanting to talk my mom into trying it, because it's supposed to fill in wrinkles and fine lines. Maybe give that a try? It was $13, I believe. Good luck! :)
@alexisyates289 жыл бұрын
Generally the lighter the foundation the better and silicone primers (used lightly) are great to minimise pores/wrinkles. Be minimalistic in the use of highlighters shimmer, try to use matte eyeshadows and satins and more glowy highlighters that don't have glitter in it. Also creme products are great to work with such as for highlighting, blush, contour. However unlike what is said in this video try to use an ashy almost grey colour to contour and use brown to warm up the entire face, copperplate eyeshadow by mac is an excellent contour. Let me know if you have any other questions!! It is hard when 99.9% of youtubers are young with perfect skin :P

Andy StPierre Sorry to butt in, but check out Mallory1712's YT channel if you haven't already. She recently had a septoplasty for the same reason and a video where she talks about it. Good luck either way :)

Ok Jaclyn you nailed it! This is (once again) the best contouring video I've ever seen!! Thank you for going so in-depth! I wanted request a video (maybe sit-down style) Where you talk about how to fix clients imperfections (per face shape), and how to achieve the ideal face shape (or points in the face). Also Synthetic vs. natural brushes, and any books you have found helpful on any of these topics :) Thank you!
