And to think this came out of the mind of Bruce. How the heck can even start to conceive a bass line to match Clapton's relentless playing blow for blow?!😵💫🎸🎸🎶🎵

That's impressive! Litterally, the first time I've ever seen a bass player play Jack Bruce's part right!

Nailed it! Best video I found for learning this bass line. One of the all time best bass lines imo. Learning it influenced my style significantly.

This legendary bassline is an absolute masterpiece. Hearing Crossroads made me pick up the bass guitar at age 20, because I could not believe 😮how well the virtuosity of Jack Bruce’s fluid bass riffs drove the groove for Clapton’s licks and Baker’s drumming. Clapton’s 2 solos are right up there amongst his finest IMHO.❤

I so glad you took a second crack at this classic recording. This Jack Bruce line is a favorite of mine since childhood but has always been out of reach. Your tab for this one is dang good. Keep up the great work!

Every single member of that “band” pushed one another. I don’t really consider Cream to be a true band because they each just did their own thing and it worked somehow. You just don’t see that much. But they were probably destined to implode or explode because of it. Amazing musicians and amazing music. Awesome job on the bass cover

Ahhh! I have really been digging this song and I want you (she's so heavy) by The Beatles and i told myself "I must learn the bass lines to these songs" and of course, you have covers/tab for both! Thanks not only for your musicianship but your taste in music! Rock on!!

No greater sound than a mud bucker pick up and a Marshall amp overdriven so the bass can be heard over the drummer
@jonathongoldby45642 жыл бұрын
@bflo1000 I think he had the 3x 200w. The cabs he used at the farewell gigs had the 100w badge in the top left corner. Clapton used 2x 100w I think.

@bflo1000 no problem I’ve got a 100 bass man I got an update kit of eBay new transistors resisters and other stuff and it gave the amp more bollocks

how do you play that part at 0:19 where you play 2-3-4 with just one finger without getting that noise i get from sliding up the string. i get like a scraping noise from the texture of the string.

uhmm...well....that was okay.....ahahaha ,.....That was freakin fantastic...Bruce"s lines were incredibly difficult to master>>>he didnt play by the rules>>>ahahah>>> but you NAILED it to a T.....wow

How. How in the whole world did you learn that? It's funny how music works that 50+ years later I know (and you showed me) every bend, pull off, every teensy bit of that Jack Bruce treasure. I know it in my mind, but you sir... know it in your fingers - I'm so very impressed !

Many electric bass players: "I played lead guitar until I realized the bass plays a solo all the time, not just during the guitar aolo." Jack Bruce: "Hold my cocaine. I'm gonna play a dope solo over top of Clapton."

EDITED BELOW: Great work. My problem is that as a guitar player, I have no idea whether the bass players in my small community have a clue what to play during the first solo mainly, then perhaps the 2nd solo if not the same patterns. To simplify 'where' they should be in terms of I IV V, can anyone layout a wood-block level chart for me? Eg [A] [A] [D] [A] ..... The verses are [A] [D] [A] [A] [D] [D] [A] [A] [E] [D] [A] [E], sounds to me like the bass hangs on the 'A' for two measures in the opening of the solo, but I can't be sure, and where it goes from there is a complete mystery to me. lol. ============================ EDIT; Do I have this right now, it is clearest to me during the second solo segment, is the first solo segment different?; A A A A D D A A E F# A A
