I was able to use the concepts from your video to replace my sealed-beam headlight with a LED. The only thing was that I could not find the trailer tail light at Walmart or anywhere else. The only trailer light that I founds was a native LED unit, but that did not work at all. I ended up getting a 2057 LED bulb, and a 2057 light socket from Amazon. I cut off the old socket and used a Dremel grinding stone to make the hole bigger. I then shaped the plastic on the Amazon socket to fit exactly snug in the hole in the old light. I then used wire ties to secure the socket so that it doesn’t work its way out. Everything is working as it should now. Thanks for the video.

Nice video. Good production. Please consider making more maintenance and repair videos. There is not much out there on the NU50. On this mod, I would just drill a small hole on the housing for a ground screw. Saves the issue of soldering the ground to the bulb housing. Bulb Ground would be from the bulb housing mounting tab to the lamp socket.

Thanks for the video. I recently bought a 82 honda urban express and the guy never mention the head light was out. So when i took it home I was a little disappointed. I gave your tutorial a try and i got it working. The only thing i did different was keeping the light bulb that came with the brake light. The LED bulb was too expensive almost 18 dollars. Im still able to switch between low and high beam. Although the low beam is quite low but the high beam is really bright.

I totally understand and have recently tried the other bulb out as well. The LED just wasn't as bright as I was hoping.

Bro, you could’ve put a much better COB led or Cree 50/50 and you would not have any flicker or anything the LEDs come with their own ballast that will take the 12 V and manage it properly. Also, if you’re interested in hearing about the modifications, I’ve done to my 1982 Honda urban expressed that goes 50+ miles per hour. Let me know ;) it’s stupid easy

I'll be honest. I've had some mixed success with those LEDs in terms of brightness. Thankfully, by just slightly enlarging the hole I can use traditional bulbs and it works great! This still gets the ability to change them pretty easily, and pretty cheap.

Sorry, a little off topic of headlights, but my '82 has a bad stator. They are apparently not available. Have you or anyone) ever replaced the CDI stator unit with an earlier points type?
