Love it! I have a feeling your husband would give you whatever you wanted, but it was endearing the way y'all spoke with your eyes. LOL. My husband had me so spoiled, but we were so much alike when it came to decorating our home and he loved to help me, as he could do anything, (electrical, hang pictures, carry heavy things, etc) and was a perfectionist. After 49 years of marriage and poodles as our babies, i miss him everyday. Thank you so much for your wonderful ideas and the enjoyment you give to me. God bless.

Hey Liz! Jill here!! Girl, you made a good choice. Did you notice that the door has a cross on it. These doors were made this way to show the cross. Anyway, you can research it if you are interested. I have them throughout my house. It's like a sign of faith. Love your choice to decorate it. That shelf is adorable! Can't wait to see it in place at the top of your stairs. You have the best ideas! It's a beautiful door. I think you should add "batting your eyelashes" into your argument of why you need to buy something, I think your husband would have caved in a lot sooner. I like the color of your wood items, they blend into all your other wood items and your new decor. Those little lights will look great on each side. And the shelf is beautiful.

Liz you can drill a hole big enough for the cord to go thru behind the light. Hang your light and the hole is covered. I have done this to cabinets that has no lighting. On shelves I have to place decor in front of the hole. No problem there! What you did I’d so cute!

Buy a lead paint test kit from any hardware store and test all painted items you're concered about. Easy peasy.

Soooo I decided to tell you how much I have enjoyed and still are enjoying your channel!!! My mama had alzheimers for 20yrs and caring for her was my job /labor of ❤ love!! She passed away right before the pandemic shut everything down March of 2020!! She was my best friend and I miss her more everyday!! My house has taken a back seat for quite a while !! Yes I'd decorate for the holidays but nothing else ever changed ...until I saw this sweet ,full of life, beautiful little lady named Liz!! Girl I changed my China cabinet for fall and was hooked!! You inspire me !!! I changed things up all the time now and it's such a ball!!!! I love all your stories and truly enjoy all your videos!! I told my husband the only thing better would be that you and I were really friends !!❤ ok ok don't worry I won't stalk you !! Hi Julie, I am so sorry to hear that you lost your sweet mama, my heart goes out to you. My Mom was my best friend (I lost her to Cancer at the age of 58), so I can definitely relate. 💕 I am so sorry your mama battled Alzheimers for 20 years, I can't imagine. What a special person you are to have cared for her for so many years. I'm sure you were her little angel. 😇 I must share this with you, because it truly helped me with my grief. I went through a period of time where I didn't care about my house and it showed. One day, something came over me, and I felt the need to change everything around, the furniture, the decor, everything, and in doing so, it brought me happiness and excitement. I found that changing my environment from time to time (especially decorating for the different seasons) helped my frame of mind and slowly but surely my grief lessened and lessened. I realized that as hard as it is to go on after such a great loss, life goes on. I knew my Mom would want me to be happy and so from that time on I knew I wanted to create a happy, cozy, and loving home. 🏡 Julie, I am tickled pink to learn that you changed your China cabinet and had fun making the change. Thank you for sharing with me and for the lovely comments, it warmed my heart. ❤️ Please know you will be in my prayers. 🙏 Have a wonderful day! ~XOXO 😘 💕

What fun, Liz. Love the door & what you have planned for it. You could have your husband use a keyhole bit & drill a hole big enough for the cord to go through the door then the cord will be hidden if you want the light mounted on the door instead of the wall. Whatever you decide, I know it will be gorgeous!

P.S. Wait until you discover old “transom” windows! A whole new world of decorating awaits! Places like Habitat for Humanity stores and Goodwill and dusty old JUNK stores (not the fancier “Antiques” stores so much) are the best places to search. ❤️

Liz I use toothpaste when I hang something. I put toothpaste where the hooks are & then I press it against the wall. I screw it in & wipe the toothpaste away. Loved the way the door turned out.

I actually went out and bought a door off market place.stripped it, painted it, made it look old. I also added corbels and shelves. Then lastly added a sconce light to the top. Wow! It’s amazing!! Ty for the idea and it was so much fun!!

My son was working on an old farmhouse the tools he has are magnetized, paint chips were sticking to his tools. Sure enough there was lead in the paint and the home had to be evacuated until it was removed. Beautiful door!!
