Amazing Isac! I cannot wait for the lighting video! Your lighting is already so realistic even at the start with an empty hallway, and that makes everything blend together so well straight away as you bring in those new assets. Fantastic work!

I like when you say "try to tell a story with the way you place your assets",because the passion to make this kind of art needs a feeling,not just the desire of making money with a video game.

Lovely. Questions & comments: 1.I like the texturing on the damaged ceiling tiles. How and where did you texture the ceiling tiles ? you mentioned those assets were created and merged in Blender. 2. This was a nice opportunity to demo how you make any Qxl asset "sit" within the texture scheme of this scene. One of your colleagues has done exactly that in another video so you could mention that with the link in the info. However a micro demo in this video would have made it more complete. Thanks for such fantastic artistic education . Cheers, b

5:19 This kind of tedium is why I wish we had better VR DCC tools. (Yeah I know UE4 has a VR Editor but it is not very intuitive to use...doesn't even have a fly navigation mode). A VR tool done right could cut so many steps out of the tweak hell that is organically naturalizing your artwork, similar to how it's so much easier to achieve a "natural media" look using a pressure/tilt sensitive graphics tablet, vs using a mouse where you'd have to swap between a dozen tools to individually tweak the feathering, thickness variation, and brush tilt variation all as separate steps, for every line.
@kettenotter4 жыл бұрын
That would be nice. 3D transformations are a lot faster in VR where you can use both your hands. In unreal engine you can only rotate around one axis which is so slow...

Thanks a lot for this kind of tutorials ! However just one thing for the Quixel Meg team, maybe it can be a great idea to add something like "[...]part 2/3", or just "[...]part 2" or "[...]part 3" etc (if you don't know exactly yet how many videos you are gonna make). And also, add it in a playlist alone.. Here we can see the "tutorials playlist", i'm really grateful thanks for that ! But i think it's really important to clearly classify things, to be more clear, easy to see. Especially to be more "attractive", easy to understand and to apprehend especially for new people coming by. If you need to learn tons of new things (unreal/blender/quixel) & if you have to think also at witch video you have to see and where to find it..sometimes it can be repelling for some kind of people. Again, thank you :)

Nice work! When is Mixer 2020 getting an update? I wish I could directly export to Bridge the manual method is very tedious. The only other thing we need is to support direct Baking like in Substance Painter then Blender integration would be superb. Otherwise I have to use a combination of Add-ons. Actually maybe the Quixel team could make another Blender On for Mixer exporting to bake the required maps to speed up workflows for us indies.
