I love this tutorial. A lot of light leaks tutorials just use presets and that's ok. But if you are serious about editing it is better learning how to make your own custom effects.

Thank you for the good idea. I was able to close some knowledge gaps thx to y (I am one of those who know they don't know everything...;-) you know your stuff. BUT for those filmmakers on youtube: lightlleaks are stylish, but you should be aware, that light leaks occur naturally, whenever you turn a camera focus axis into the sunlight. So there is camera movement involved.

@ThePremierePro
@ThePremierePro 3 жыл бұрын
Right-click the smaller sequence and choose Scale to Frame Size. 48x27 has the same aspect ratio as 1920x1080 (16:9) so it will fill the frame perfectly.

The light leaks are not showing on the video after I export. What could be the problem and yet they show up in the project when I preview.

That's odd - try checking/unchecking Maximum Bit Depth and Maximum Render Quality in your export settings to see if that makes a difference.

Hi Paul! First of all thank you for your tutorials. They are straight to the point and help me to solve many doubts. I followed this tutorial and I have a problem. I need to export these lights as alpha to be used as a template, but when exporting it creates some black spots around the lights. In the file the spots are there too, but when I put a video underneath, they don't appear. However, when I export them as alpha, they are visible even if I put a video underneath. I'm relatively new to Premiere, any idea what I'm doing wrong? thank you very much!!!!!
@emilynalexandrabolivarlimo794
@emilynalexandrabolivarlimo794 2 жыл бұрын
by the way, I used luma key to get rid of some of the black, but I still have some black shadows when I export like alpha :(
@ThePremierePro
@ThePremierePro 2 жыл бұрын
@@emilynalexandrabolivarlimo794 Thanks Emilyn - good question! If you want to export the light leaks to re-use them, export them without alpha - setting your Blend Mode to Screen will ignore any black in the video.

Hi Paul - could I please kindly ask your opinion. I was following this tutorial the other day, super happy that all was going well, until 4:20. When I bring the lightleaks sequence to my initial one and scale it to the size, I can only see a black screen, even though I did see my to-be light leaks aka the huge blurred grains when only working on that separate sequence. Do you please have any ideas why that could be? Thanks in advance for any thoughts - and for a great tutorial, everything was amazing until I reached that point. :D Barbora.
@ThePremierePro
@ThePremierePro 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Barbora. Is the black screen actually black, or is it transparent? You can check by clicking the wrench in the Program Monitor and choosing Transparency Grid.
