Fab Containers! Your mix of foliage colors and textures is right on! Love the twinkle lights. I used 3-AA battery outdoor LEDs last year and not only put each pack in ziplock bags, but taped it, rolled it in bubble wrap and then placed each under a pot! Maybe a little overkill😳, we have lots of rain & wind here and temps that can dip below freezing for a week or two at a time. That said, my 2 battery packs lasted for a month, and the lights weren't affected by the rain nor temps! I'm even using them inside this year, so they're very versatile! No outdoor decs this year since I'll be gone for the Xmas holidays.

Hi there!! They really are great to use these little battery operated light packs. I have about 6 now and they are so easy. Great to hear yours lasted 4 weeks. Last year mine went dim at about 3 weeks and I had to update the batteries. But I'm happy to use them for the convenience of not having cords everywhere. Thanks for sharing your experience! And have a great holiday vacation!!

@HookedandRooted2 жыл бұрын
Hi Steph!! Oh what a bummer, not even if you amend your soil? Ehat do you think is the issue with the soil? Your in zone 5 right, New York? I'm guessing there are lots of evergreens that could handle the cold, Colorado blue spruce, pine, junioer, cypress, arborvitae, and even Boxwood. I hope your able to add some throughout the years. If not, I believe some areas allow foraging for personal use. Something maybe you could look 👀 up. Thank you so much for watching, and for your comment. Happy Holidays!

Your winter display is beautiful!! Can I ask what material are your two containers made of? I want to do this too but not sure what kind of pots to get that won't crack in freezing weather. I'm St. Louis, MO zone 6. Thank you : )
@HookedandRooted2 жыл бұрын
Hi Karen, Thank you so much! My containers are plastic. If you dont have frost hardy planters it's possible they could crack. Some pots when purchased will indicate whether or not they are frost hardy. Any clay or Terracotta is typically too porous and therefore do not do well with the freeze/thaw cycle and lead to cracking. Plastic is easy and long lasting in my experience. They've also come a long way in terms of estetics. They look alot more realistic and pretty these days. You may still be able to find plastic planters at home depot and lowes this time of year. Another option is to buy a pre-made arrangement container and recycle the pots for next year where you could add your own greens. Thanks for your comment.
