i just found your channel and it's amazing! i'm very good at cartoony/stylized sculpts but not at realism, and i feel like i'm learning so much. thank you!

Awesome tips on scale, thanks! Question: instead of applying those details directly to the sculpt, could you just project paint in a texturing software and use that as a displacement map?
@ArtruismDigital4 жыл бұрын
I could and I have done it on some assets in this channel, but in the end i judge how well it works in zbrush. even if I paint displacement in Mari, I will displace it in zbrush, adjust it to get the final mesh. I won't render the painted displacement directly in a render engine, it's not reliable, you won't really know how it looks.

Why do you use stencil on Mudbox, when you have stencil in zbrush?Is there are any benifits of doing so?

She said in the video, She finds the layers in mudbox more intuitive to use

Interesting video. I have often felt uncomfortable with trying to pull a look look off by using bump maps alone.
@ArtruismDigital4 жыл бұрын
Geometry details that actually changes the shape of the geometry should be modeled or use displacement. Bump is for smaller fine details that doesn't alter the shape

If I want to texture something like this (asset, not animation use ), How can I do it?, do I need retopology always?
@ArtruismDigital4 жыл бұрын
if you want to texture it, you need a mesh that is not a dynamesh, it doesn't have to be perfect. I did a video before this one showing how to prepare your dynamesh for texturing.

Hi there, can I ask why you didn't use something like substance painter to add the details to the horns? I thought that's what it was for? This stuff is really confusing :) Thanks.
@ArtruismDigital4 жыл бұрын
because I am talking about adding details in the modeling stage not texturing.

Mudbox hype! The interface is so so SO much better than ZBrush.
