You can map any midi controller that works with Recordbox, so in thery you can use a controller to your liking. I have used my APC Mini to map some things but, I could not seperate the mapping for deck 2. Apc mini has 64 buttons and 9 sliders, and I made my own ddj-xp2 functions. But now I have a DDJ-XP2. I want to make a better use of stems to my flx4, with control not just on/off and apply seperate effects to a stem

Great videos, there is actually a indicator that u are in vinyl mode in rekordbox (there is a blue light on the deck if its turn on, no light if turn off)

Hi Chris I've got a Flx 4 and recently the trim knob on deck 1 has became dis-aligned. If it is at the 12 o'clock position on the controller it is at 2 o'clock on my laptop. I have to turn it to the 10 o'clock on the controller for it to be at 12 o'clock on my laptop. I've looked at the settings on Rekordbox but can't find anything. Any help will be appreciated. hey mate you seem to know rekordbox better than pioneer itself, do you know if theres an option to listen to the track thats playing for example to find out when the vocals are ending before the track is actually there, or also to go back and maybe set a cue point to jump to while the track is playing

Hey - yes you can do this! It's called waveform preview. You can listen to it ahead of where it is playing but I don't believe you can set cue points from there. I cover it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmK0iHVjg5x9qpo

Now if only most of the fancy features of higher end controllers were actually mappable. Want a jog needle display mapped to a VU meter? Nope. Not in rekordbox, even if you manually edit the midi config file. Make a pad light start blinking like a CDJ ring light when you're nearing the end of a track? Also nope. Switch which jog controls which deck? You guessed it. Nope. Because of stuff like this I'm leaning more and more towards VirtualDJ instead of Rekordbox. Their MIDI mapping system is overly convoluted, but at least it allows you to do pretty much anything.
