I’ll be 70 years old in April and I used to do this type of wire work in a jewelry class in high school. So 1971 & 72, my sophomore and junior years. For a large project that was going to be displayed at a show at our art museum, I focused on African design brass wire necklaces. I moved on to gold & silver work, wax castings and faceting gem stones. Worked with a lot of red coral, jade, turquoise and opal. And then I stopped when I joined the army. Watching your videos has inspired me to start again. I’ve also started making wood jewelry, as I’m also a woodworker. There is no better stress therapy in the world.

😊Thank you for sharing your design and techniques, and materials. It's a beautiful piece! And, I'm glad you showed how you "pivoted" and redid the last beaded link to add the wire wrapped Briolette. Great video and inspirational too!

Love this tutorial!! When I tested mine, the pin need to bend a little in order to get through the curve. Is this normal or do I need to curve the main piece more or??? Thank you!
@ellieshandcrafted2 ай бұрын
Glad to hear it! I would probably bend the main piece first, before bending the pin. Just be gentle!

That's absolutely beautiful! For the people who don't use freedom units, would you be able to convert to metric? Thank you!
@ellieshandcrafted5 ай бұрын
Thanks! That's a great idea! I'll try to remember to add conversions in the description in the future. :)
@meredithnavin13585 ай бұрын
@@ellieshandcrafted Thank you! You'd be surprised at how much pushback people who use metric get for requesting this. Some people take it as a personal insult for some reason??? It's like "dude, it takes you one minute to convert, or it takes a thousand people 1 minute to convert."

@@meredithnavin1358 That's too bad to hear! I really appreciate the feedback. I do want it to be easy to follow and if that means you need the right measurements for you area, I totally get it!
