Hi, Great video...can the pattern be done "length" wise instead of "width"? Or does the pattern not work that way? Thanks
@createandcrochetwithpatricia3 жыл бұрын
Yes, absolutely! It would look interesting with the pattern going in the other direction. Just make your foundation chain the length you desire, using an even number of chains, and follow the pattern as directed. Working the pattern in this way, you'll probably have a foundation chain of around 200 stitches, and will do at least 14 rows of the v-stitch. Enjoy!

@@ffern-re8hx For sure... You can change the yarn color with each row, every 2nd, 3rd or 4th row...be playful and creative. Crochet is very forgiving, if you don't like it, just unravel and try something different. In this blanket tutorial, I show how to change colors...

I need to make a scarf for a man. Would this be suitable?
@createandcrochetwithpatricia6 сағат бұрын
For sure. If you use a yarn that has masculine colors and maybe eliminate the tassels (so, make it 6-8 inches longer), it would look great. Lion Brand Ferris Wheel in Morning Java is really nice! Using a variegated or self-striping yarn is great.

I really like this but I can’t get mine to be straight. It curves!😢I think it’s finally straightening!!
@createandcrochetwithpatricia Жыл бұрын
If it curves along the straight edge, then you want to be really careful how you begin and end each row...you may be skipping or adding a stitch. If the fabric is curling, then it could be your tension. Check out this tutorial: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqmkh4eElLlmo80 Also, some yarns have a lot of twist in them and blocking the fabric once the project is done can resolve that issue!

I just finished the scarf, my first ever! Love the pattern! Question, one side of the scarf has 20 stitches and the other 28. The side with 20 was the chain. Have no idea how to do tassels!
@mariasullivan8193 жыл бұрын
I ended up with 9 half double crochet V stitches throughout the entire scarf. Did I do something wrong.
@createandcrochetwithpatricia3 жыл бұрын
The last row of single crochets is done by skipping every third stitch to get the stitch count back to 20. You are eliminating the ch1 of the v-stiches if that makes sense. See 12:30 of the tutorial. Instructions for the tassels start at 14:40.
@createandcrochetwithpatricia3 жыл бұрын
That is the correct amount...9 hdc V-stitches sandwiched between a ch 2 at the beginning of each row and 1 hdc at the end of the row.
@mariasullivan8193 жыл бұрын
@@createandcrochetwithpatricia thank you, somehow I missed that last instruction of finishing the last row. Easily fixed by adding one extra row. Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I can’t wait to use this stitch in other projects.

I have tried this, but it keeps curving. How do i fix this?
@createandcrochetwithpatricia3 жыл бұрын
It could be a couple of things...you may be adding too many stitches, so make sure the row starts and ends with just one half-double-crochet on each end, with 9 v-stitches in-between. It could also be your tension and I have a tutorial on proper crochet tension here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqmkh4eElLlmo80 Hope that helps!
