Oh, I love this idea so much! Using a scarf pin is sort of like a double gift...the pin and the cowl. Thank you as always Patricia! 🥰

You are most welcome! And I agree about the double gift, there are so many beautiful pins and broaches to choose from. 🙏

Been doing this for past yes. Use any stich design from a blanket, scarf, poncho, from a book of stitches, etc. Men like these when out hunting, shoveling snow, etc.

It's great that you've already been doing this for so long! It seems that people who crochet are a pretty creative crowd and are good at adapting patterns for other uses. My husband wants one too...so you are right on with that! 👍👌

Thank you Patricia for this lovely pattern and easy instructions. Beautiful scarf, cowl. I was little worried how to do a button holes.Your instruction was easy to follow. I'm a knitter and lately learning to make more crochet handcrafts. Again, thank you for sharing!

I am so glad I found your video. Newbie crocheter and I found a stitch I like but no pattern for a cowl. Now I think I can just "wing it". Clear explanations, easy to understand. Thank you so verry much. New Subscriber now also!!! Love and appreciation from New Zealand. So excited to start next project that I want to send you a big hug. Well done and please keep going!!!!!!

Thank you so much! I love that you already have the attitude of '"just winging it". That is the best way to go! Have you ever heard of Freeform Crochet? It's super fun! kzbin.info/aero/PLVxSmwID02OBSOOK2rrFs8VQybZisCqJA

Where can i biy the buttons pls? And the one who has hook?
@createandcrochetwithpatriciaКүн бұрын
Check your local fabric store for a large selection of buttons. The scarf pin was a hand-made item I bought at a craft fair, but a search online (like Esty) may be worthwhile.

This is not a tutorial for a specific pattern, it is about how to turn any scarf pattern into a cowl. See 1:30 in this video where I show the scarf pattern used for the grey cowl demonstrated. The link for that tutorial is in the description box below the video. Click on "...more" behind the hashtags. Click on the blue hyperlink that says "blog post with all links mentioned". The cowl demonstrated is based on the Easiest Crocheted Scarf Ever pattern which is provided in that blog post.
