Thanks for sharing your insecurities throughout the process. You're so good at painting, so watching your struggle gives me such hope to move through my own difficult painting process. To hopefully find the treasure at the end like you.

Slew. You are a good teacher. I don’t know if teaching is your intention, but I always learn and enjoy it as you paint.❤

Now that you have done this fun painting, you should go one step further and do a full body pirate, with a proud pirate’s stance! I could see so much more that could have been added to make this epic! The look of a pirate is such an individual achievement, because there wasn’t a standard dress code. So anything goes! Aside from the things you mentioned that you were not happy with, I saw that the highlights didn’t reach their highest value. I mean being outdoors on a sunny day, you may be washed out in certain areas. But hey, like you said, it was fun! And that adds a lot to the painting process! Love the idea, do it again with full body! ❤️

Nice. I love the Caricature Style even if it was accidental. The proportions being skewed, to me, adds to the story in my head: A young boy is envisioning himself in the stories that he has heard his Father and Uncle share about the adventure of a Pirate's life. He is in that awkward growth period that all boys go through, no longer a boy not yet a man. He may be too young now, but his day will come and when it does he will be ready to prove himself fit to pillage and plunder with the best of them. Little does he know of the hardships that await him.

I am glad you enjoyed painting yourself as a pirate! I do wonder at your use of odorless mineral spirits, have you checked out Chelsea lavender Spike oil mediums and cleaners and thinners? I know that turpentine and even odorless mineral spirits outgas petroleum toxic fumes just because you can’t smell them, does not mean they are not there harming you or your guests! I myself am trying to learn more about these products and would like to know your take on them so maybe a future video? I like your pirate painting I’m glad you had fun and I hope you go and paint some more enjoyable imagery even if you’re not in the center of it you can still enjoy it! Please take care be safe take it easy man!

I think I would just go to Party City & buy a pirate costume for $15-20 bucks. Especially if I already have a studio with lighting to take a reference photo. So basically this episode is one long ad.

I know you arent happy with your painting here but i think its a perfect example of your Artist journey. We all know you are a badass painter and are capable of near perfection when yure focused. But this was what happens when you are being free and letting yourself not think about the rules! which in a way is what art is all about. Its knowing how to do something but doing it diffrently!

@aMEWzed2 жыл бұрын
You did good capturing the Greenwing Macaw but his proportion is small. They some big birdies! You did great on the foreshortening! That is prob what gave you that characature vibe. Over all, its what makes painting the best...you relaxed & had fun. Always cool to do a slightly different style. You should try more drawing & painting with the foreshortening, you have a great feel for it. Dynamics would work for your stencil type works also! Try it. Look up Burne Hogarth. Its an old school paper book. Lol
