Is it possible that while you like this style it may not be speaking to you? Or maybe watching more videos of this kind of art and sketching down the ideas you get might help. It could also be beginners nerves. I can’t tell you the amount of times I went from being overwhelmed by the idea of starting an art project only to get lost in it. Remember that this art is for your enjoyment. Whatever inspires you so much that you’re driven to do it is the next step in your art journey. Thinking about the feeling of satisfaction from finishing after giving yourself permission to make garbage, also helps. If this art thing doesn’t work out for me, I plan to use my art for comedy. Especially the blind contour drawings. 😂 Speaking of which, if you think this artist is so good it’s intimidating, you might be missing the fact that this woman is figuring out how to get the effects she wants to a certain degree and doing A LOT of erasing. The rest is tutorials and things she knows from the art she’s been making for over 10 years. Personally I think it’s one of the most inspiring aspects of these videos. That and seeing her redo her old drawings. Which reminds me that part of the joy is seeing the progress made over time. It’s enough to make not want to erase any of my “mistakes”. Sorry for the long comment. I’ve been binge watching these videos all day. I’m trying to refuel my enthusiasm to finish some of my art in my journal. I hope you’re making art that puts a smile on your face. 😊

I had something similar happen this week. I saw these gorgeous 3D hydrangea clusters someone had made out of dried hard-bodied acrylics. They put the paint for the leaves into molds and the top parts of the flowers and stuck the flowers on with paint squeezed out of an icing piping tool to both get them on the canvas, and fill in the rest of the hardwe to see flowers on each bush! They looked so good and realistic! I decided to do a series where I do art of zoomed in women with pretty stuff around their faces. The one I'm currently working on is succulents, but in the future I'm thinking of making some flowers, and perhaps trying this combined with a hack I saw Moriah Elizabeth do. I'm going to do a similar thing, but instead of hard bodied paint (because I'm poor and have too many art supplies as it is) I'm just going to use my cheap paints and make the 3D pieces out of clay I already have quite a bit of.
