Creating A City in Unreal Engine 4 [Speed Level Design] Part 1

Hello guys welcome back to the channel! Today I wanted to show you guys what I've been working on the past couple of days. I have been playing around with the free Kitbash3D Neon city kit, as well as some of the free marketplace content to create a tropical rain forest themed city.

How did you make those buildings and make custom structers and objects like Fortnite is their a program planning on making a map with structers and custom objects and props but can you do that in unreal engine or do you need separate plugins and programs

he used kit bash 3d neo city kit and he used quixel megascan for road and props,he also jungle pack in unreal marketplace and for roads he used splines which is also a feature in unreal engine. he also used world composition to edit the world

Any tips on how to make an open world map load only what can be seen so it doesnt go over streaming budget because its loading the entire map? Right now the map just disappears until you get close but the buildings and particle lighting always shows. I need the land to still load from a distance but all the buildings, detail and lighting to load as you can approach the area. Only because particle lighting is heavy and some of my building textures are higher res than others. Ive seen other people get open world to do seemless load and unload but no one really explains how to do it.

docs.unrealengine.com/Images/Engine/LevelStreaming/WorldBrowser/world_layout_UI.webp the box that is numbered "1" is where you can create a layer that has a configured streaming distance. Select the landscape tiles and assign it to that layer. Up the value of the streaming distance to 200,000 - 500,000 you can have lots of tiles loaded at once. You can also add custom streaming distances so you can always see that big mountain in the distance.
