Mirror in the bathroom aha

I was so focused and didn't even bothered reading the title, because i was in a hurry to find out how to create a mirror effect material. After the end of the video i laughed because this was a great and faster idea, and way easier compared to adjusting materials in asset editor. Thanks! Will be using this techniques.

That's a cool effect, Aaron, thanks! I'm going to try it with a surface in the frame painted with a material that is mostly transparent, to suggest a less perfect reflective surface. Keep thinking outside the box, my friend!

@@AaronMakingStuff Oh, Am I to infer that "Eric" is like calling you names? LOL (Just kidding!). But picking on what Rob Mahan said below, I've also tried making a slighltly reflective floor by applying any materials from the SU Materials Library and making it sligthly reflective so as to lend this glossy look to the floor. Of course, we have to follow a similar procedure and mirror at least a few objects off the floor plane. Then we add a few effects in Photoshop. Looks neat in the end.

Unfortunately, this only works if you have room for a full copy of the room behind the mirror. If you need this look, you may have to break your model into pieces.

Very clever, sir. I like it. Why, though, is the plaid showing in the "reflection" at 6:34, but obscured thereafter? Did you add a plane with a transparency and not call it out? Just curious why the couch texture was no longer "reflected".

With a detail-filled room with stuff arent you increasing the drawing size a lot for a small benefit
@AaronMakingStuff4 жыл бұрын
If you are good at organizing your model and use components, something like a single room should not get TOO big... but, yes, if you use a bunch of high poly models and don't use components, you could make a very unwieldy model. It really comes down to following best practices for efficient modeling!
@henryrothschild70444 жыл бұрын
@@AaronMakingStuff - I agree, and typically I use components for almost all my custom cabinetry and room build-outs to keep file size down, but after a while things slow down, especially with shadows on. I only use a groups when I want to package the assembly of components that I made.

It s ok when the model is simple , but when its 500mb file , are you gonna do this ? 1 gb for mirror effect?
@AaronMakingStuff4 жыл бұрын
fajar vashra That would be a difficult model to maneuver! Hopefully you don’t have any 500mb SketchUp models of a single room! That alone would be a rough model to work with!
@fadilvi4 жыл бұрын
@@AaronMakingStuff I don't if you mean single room , but in single floor apartment which is more than one room I do, I do work two story or more in SU too, which can reach 1 GB+ file...well you know when it do, my comp scream. may be its better to make panorama file and paste it as texture in extruded arc ?
