These video's are great and one of the best 'How-To' finishing videos on KZbin. A video on finishing curvy legs (like some of the more ornate HW peices) would help so much. More so the varnish aspect. Again, wonderful tutorial.

A very helpful video. One trick I've learned over the years: hold your steel wool so the fibers are at right angles to the direction you're wiping in. It allows the steel wool to pick up into the firbers rather than dragging what you want to remove.

What do you think was the temperature and humidity of the room you were in to do this?

can you use this finish on any type of wood or does it have to be used on a specific type of wood?

What are you going for during the wet-sanding and steel wool steps? You just do it for a certain amount of time, but don't give us any indication of what condition you're trying to achieve. Are you sanding until you take away the shine from the finish? Are you trying to level out visible lines in the finish? And what condition are you trying to correct with the steel wool? I'm guessing there's some goal, other than just sanding or rubbing for an arbitrary period of time. I plan to buy a kit, so this is important information that will help me know when to stop wet-sanding or rubbing the steel-wool over the surface.

Believe it's to remove/dull sanding lines from the 600 grit and buff the finish. Kinda like waxing your car.
