I loved this video, real life. My mom, dad and myself growing up we spent almost all day in the kitchen too, yes great memories. The kitchen is the heart of the home. My dad drank coffee mom and I had tea.

Hesitating to decorate the way you want - that resonates with me too. I liked when you said you were going to live in your home until you die (in a prior video). It made me think - I should treat my home that way. Don't worry about selling it some day. I've always loved my home but now I'm treating it as though I'll be here forever. Making it my way. We also had a eat in kitchen visitors would make themselves comfortable while the sitting room would be empty. Many problems and happy times were spoken about at the kitchen table.

It wasn't just in France. We all grew up sitting around the kitchen table. It was the heart of the home. So nice that you're all enjoying it!

My mother had 3 siblings. Visits to any of our homes were around the kitchen table. Coffee pot was on all the time. Our little table was for homework, games, everything. I think it's funny that other countries think we all live in large spaces. I was born in 1952 just south of Chicago and our home, as well as the neighbors, was a smallish 2 bedroom ranch. I was a Catholic then and went to a Catholic grade school and many of them had at least 5 kids in a small home. Very nice middle class neighborhood with big yards. We never thought of it as small. I agree with living how you love. I've lived in 4 states and when I sold a home I'd repaint the inside a neutral color and be done. Getting ready to sell again to go back to New England. I have loved watching you transform your kitchen corner. I grew up in Australia with a kitchen table where we ate our meals. We also sat in the kitchen and talked for hours. My Grandmas house was the same. She had 9 children and they all drank tea and sat around the kitchen table. Everyone was welcome. Good memories are worth recreating. Kudos x

I love it! I'm so glad you said to not put off decorating your home the way you want to because you are trying to keep it "realtor ready". I do that all of the time!! Before I paint or change anything, I always think " how would someone else see this?" Hmmm... I'm going to rethink this. I guess before we sell, we'll have to change things anyway so.....why not go ahead and decorate the way I like it and enjoy my home. Thanks for mentioning this!!

I love it! It really came together!!! It was hard to Picture because it looked super small on camera. I think it's way more homey and not cluttered at all. The shelf you had there prior was great but if there's a surface there is a place to put stuff lol

Sophia I grew up with an "Eat in Kitchen" and I am Australian. Lovely memories eating with my Family and cooking with my Grandmother with a wood fuel stove!! True what you say, filling up the teapot and talking for hours, especially in the Winter and on rainy days. Your Kitchen Eat in Area looks wonderful, enjoy with your Family.

It’s niche to have an additional area to sit. We tend to gravitate in different areas in our home different times of the year. Loving the new eat-in corner. Those designs certainly remind me of my childhood. I think our living room drapes had a similar pattern as your wallpaper - except in a smaller pattern. We had a dinette with chairs like yours. Our living room coffee table was white/cream colored Formica shaped like a sort of painter’s pallet with black wrought iron legs. Matching end tables - but not shaped like pallets. A solid orange and green club chairs had a floor lamp between them. A Curtis Mathis Hi-Fi which we used a lot. And, an upright piano. I had 4 older teenage siblings (plus 3 younger). Many parties were held in that living room. Those were some great days.

I love it !! You are taking me back in time too..... I grew up with an eat in kitchen too and just like you, it was not a huge kitchen but we spent a lot of time in it. Enjoy it Sophia !! You know you are right, there have been times that I had second thoughts of what I want to do with our home due to the future of selling.
