I was born in 1958 and so the 1960's and 1970's were very familiar to me. I wish I had the light that hung above our kitchen table. It would have fit right in with your decor. I also remember living room drapes with the same pattern as your wall paper. This whole sequence of videos certainly stirred memories for me. Thank You!

Beautiful project! You did a great job. My Italian mother was a professional seamstress for many designers in New York and L.A. and when I had sewing projects in middle school and high school, even though the teacher gave me an "A", she would have me redo them. So your comment about your mother having you redo the black cushion resonated with me. Soon you will enjoy Tea for Two with your mother! 🍵 💐

Sophia, you did a fantastic job with this project. You had a vision and made it come true. I always love that you come up with ideas and then you go for it. It is a cozy corner. When a guy was putting down quarter round on our floor , he put the first piece in straight to the wall and cut the second piece on an angle to go over top of the straight piece..then there were no gaps between the corner pieces.

So lovely! Nothing better than a spot to sit with a table in the kitchen! For future use, an electric carving knife works well to carve foam. Glue Dacron to the all cushion sides and squish it into the sewn cover. It will keep the fabric in place - otherwise it will rotate snd your top seam will be in the middle of your cushion depth. The Dacron also fills gaps snd imperfections. Enjoy your new space 😍

Everything looks great! Suggestion for the cushion: if you glue some quilt batting to the foam, it will fill out the cover, plus it will keep the small end piece of foan from being an obvious separate piece.

I think you did a fantastic job with this project and I really enjoyed following along with your progress. May you have many a lovely meal seated there with your family enjoying this newly created space. I do agree with what you said though Sophia, regards needing to have used a much stiffer fabric for the seating area, but at least you gave it a go and I am sure you learned something during the process.

Looks really good. It doesn’t matter if your mum makes you re-do the cushion cover, you get to do a project with your mum. Win/win for you. Also the cushions will be a quick seasonal decor change at Christmas. Another win! My mother’s name was Joy, so I always put a silver JOY hanging decoration on my Christmas tree every year since she passed. Can’t do the same for my dad, his name is not a Christmas name. But with one there was always the other. ❤

Looks great! If you have to redo the cushion, it would be worth the money and effort to make the cover out of sunbrella or outdoor fabric that is fade and spill proof. If you use cloth napkins, the cubbies underneath would be a handy place to store them.

Well I think you did pretty good on the cover. You won’t have to re-do it, but rather, use lightweight vinyl over top of what you made. The foam should be covered in a fabric like what you used first anyway. Your machine will sew vinyl with a leather needle and a heavier weight thread. Maybe when your mom comes, that would be a good project to do together. It will do in the meantime 😉
