Thanks so much. I dunno if it makes a difference or is the same thing, but before I saw this tutorial, I used a 'get up vector' instead of the 'get base aim rotation' and I plugged that and the forward vector into a 'make rot from ZY' and then plugged that in the rotation of the "make transform'. Seems to work the same.

6:50 I can't place the other anims on my aim offset blendspace, only the forward. Any idea what could cause this? I notice you used AO1D, when in the UE5 version I'm using it only has one aim offset asset. Could be contributing maybe?

Figured it out, don't need a middle sample. I think since the Up and Down offsets are based off the forward value I don't need to set it. If I set the up and down, the middle value will automatically be forward.

This is a nightmare when using the UE5 skeleton... The starter pack UE4 skeleton isnt compatible. And retargeting or adding them to the compatible list of the UE5 skeleton brings tons of issues.

The same thing happened to me at first because i wasn't doing the right setup. Rewatching the video, i learned that when you setup your 1D Offset Animation, open it, and select your desired animation for looking forward. This animation is different from the one you duplicate and modify. So when you duplicate the animation you selected for your aim offset, you setup your additive info under the same name as the offset additive. If you click the additive for the current animation you duplicated, it's going to make it turn invisible.

There's no apply key in ue5, and putting the aoaimdown and up doesn't do anything. It's working in ue4, but won't let me import them into the rest of my project in ue5, it doesn't recognize the assets. Anyone know a fix for this?

@@Naeuuin Follow the tutorial as indicated in the video, when you get to the part where you have to give "key + apply" to the poses corresponding to UP and Down, export those poses as "preview mesh" (if you look at the options at the top of the editor screen, you will find it under "export asset"). It will export an FBX file. Then, import those files and you can use them to make the keyframes in the AImOffset 1D.

Hey Matt, great tutorial as usual. Could you make a tutorial about fixing bullet speed when character is at a high velocity? For example if you are on a train or something, the bullet moves slower?

Are you thinking that is realistic? -if so then its not, the speed of the bullet adds to the speed of the train. its called Inertia. great question👍

@@stephenkrzton6893 You've probably found a way by now, but for anyone else - Apply button is still not here in ue5. To apply changes to a pose/animation, the only way atm is to create a new asset -> create animation -> current pose

Another amazing tutorial! Bit confused about the blending of looking up and down. You deleted all frames but one for both looking up and looking down, but it still retains that sort of idle 'swaying' motion. That's ideal of course, but how does it do that when we only saved a frame of each animation?

I absolutely can't get this to work no matter what I do. Once I add the animation poses to the AO blendspace, the model disappears.
