Nate ! That's very similar to the one I have, I added a digital head and angle stop with micro adjustment for the manual head. I can give you some tips, watch out for clogging on your disc, steady drip rather than flow, make sure there is no movement on your dop that will demoralise you when faceting, invest in a good transfer jig . Good luck buddy and most importantly have fun.

Wow! That really is a game changer! Once you get other discswith the orher grits you will be able to do more with it as a flat lap. But as a faceting machine you reallly have all that you need other than the different dop sticks you need for faceting. And your free form facets are lovely! Your cab turned out beautiful too! That is going to be so much fun! Your ability to do things with stones and make things has truly just opened up, all new worlds for you! Thanks Nate, for showing us your new toy and what it can do! Its really awesome!❤️ Quest on!

Hello Nate, it’s been a while since I have been able to watch your videos, December & January have been a bit full but settled down a bit now. I’m a bit behind with your videos so I will be trying to catch up over the next week or so. I enjoyed the video and your new toy is pretty cool. The cab and your first three gems came out very nicely. I will be personally interested if you get to work on one of your lake county diamonds.

@QuestForDetails9 ай бұрын
@@rebeccaofsunnybrookefarm8469 thank you 🙂. the amount that this machine uses is actually very minimal , equivalent to an old drip can so barely used 1/10 of the water on all of this project and left it running often. maybe half gallon for whole thing. just trying to show how simple it can be, my drains go to my trees as part of my grey water system and I have water supply for the shop, but the flow is so low any bucket will work for a beginner set up.

I bought the same machine, your going to find allot of issues with it, nothing is machined level or perpendicular to each other so it is full of inaccuracy. The angle scale is pretty useless I bought a digital one off ebay to replace it, the depth gauge I found had to be installed up-side down to work the numbers will be upside down but you will be able to adjust the depth and the set screw will clear the arm. There is allot of play in the two sleeves and the fine angle adjustment allows the arm to lift up so I made a sleeve with a stem on it so I can wrap a rubber band around it and the dop arm so it pulls down on the arm. I also made a sleeve for under the degree wheel to lift it off the stop so I can spin the dop 180 degrees freely for faceting the girdle. I found the collar on the motor was not machined level so the disc will bounce also the table and tower base are not level to each other the table is actually concave which tipped the tower off 90 degrees, All that being said I believe with a little effort it can be fixed to where you can cut a stone fairly accurate.

Not stainless steel washers, I'm still testing mine to see how it performs and lasts, I'm a total beginner with faceting, so long ways to go.

Real nice, I have been looking at one of these and I have questions. What size hole is in the lap disk? What diameter are the dops? I already have lots of accessories and need to know if they will fit this machine. Have you tried to get any more index wheels? Parts?

Can you please tell me what you are polishing your stone you did on the Vevor gem grinding and polishing ,,,what do you on your polishing wheel and were did you get your polishing machine It looked like you had blue polish on the cloth wheel
@QuestForDetails9 ай бұрын
It's a cotton buffing wheel, on an old bench grinder, the wheel will fit on any machine and is reasonably cheap and I'm just using green tinted polishing compound that I rub on the wheel, a highspeed rotary tool with buffing attachment will work also. @worldofrockhounds channel he does a lot of expert level polishing also, might want to check it out for more tips. Hope this helps!

How do you put the hem on the measuring lever so you don’t need the black stuff
@QuestForDetails8 ай бұрын
I believe there are other epoxies and glues you can buy but the dob sticks are cheap and work well, they can be ordered on line or found at lapidary/rock shops.
