Much Love and Respect to the Fireside Crew. Thanks for your honest self-reflection. I have the same problem with needing to prove myself to myself. Its nice to know other people experience the same things. This has happened quite often. Keep up the good work 2017 is gonna be great.

concerning backgrounds or even foreground using items that relate to your subject matter. as long as using priority and reserve also known as push and pull to make for dynamic imagery and to seperate the items so as they don't become to busy leaving out detail like a foreground sillouette or negative sillouette in the background. or vice versa . using black in only your foreground or only in your background. like jake said using shapes. putting a grey wash background is also another way to make a color foreground object stand out because the light reflects off the 2 differently. hope this makes sense. thanks

Sure does make sense. Thanks for the comment

@Thomas i dont really understand, can you explain push and pull and how grey makes other colors stand out and how you would use priority if you have 3 different objects for example? A bird, a banner, and 3 flowers. The customer wants them all to look nice!
@Twb_Tattoos7 жыл бұрын
Alphonsos DaMan you can use priority on whichever object is the most important and seperate the objects by using a select amount of black and white in the seperate pieces. pushing things backward by only using color lines and bringing things forward using bolder lines using only true blacks and brightest whites in your focal point. if you look up graphic design tutorials it might help you understand composition ,there is so much information to cover on priority and reserve breakaway lines are a nice way of seperating objects and letting them each have an equal amount of priority but getting the eye to float around the piece and come back to the main focal is a goal. if there is a banner with a name the name takes priority so make the lettering as nice as possible or you are gonna kill the tattoo!! hope this helps!

Thanks got it! But @Jake saing DO NOT SEE A BACKGROUND AS A BACKGROUND! WTF??? What does he mean? Where did he get that saying? How do you see them then?

Seems a little confusing huh? I will try to put it in a technique video to make more sense of the idea. It's a little hard tp ex[plain my thought process without using visuals. Thanks for the comment

My #1 questions are Adding backgrounds and how to finish off a tattoo, be it overlap, fading off into the skin or some other cool element. And how to add a new tattoo to a extisting tattoo and make it fit togethor. Are these topics in the FOUNDATIONS course?
@FiresideTattooNetwork7 жыл бұрын
The tools to help you make those decisions are in the Foundations course but I don't answer those questions literally. Feel free to get the course and let me know if you don't like it. I'll refund the money

Thanks. I actually have some footage from a realistic tiger that I tattooed a month or so ago. I just haven't taken the time to edit it. i will get to work on that.

hello, can somebody help me, how can I do a large solid black tattoo piece? because its not filling in properly, thanks

That is a difficult thing to teach over the internet. You really need someone beside you watching how you work. I wish we could be of more help. Do you have a mentor you can turn to?

Hey Jake i come by here off and on and when your on a subject that im dealing with at the moment i usually comment :) BACKGROUNDS i feel can make or break a tattoo! Id sure like to understand what you mean saying theres no forground or background. And use shapes? Think shapes? what does that mean? Have any other videos that talk about that? Other thingh is how do you prioritize? Say for example i have a pretty bird, 3 flowers, and a banner. How would i pick whats most important when the customer wants all of them to look nice!

A little confusing I know. Not to be "salesy" but I am releasing a 4 part video course next week called "Fireside Foundations" that deals with that subject. We are offering it at $99 for the first 2 weeks. We are testing it now to be sure it functions properly and will have it ready to go next week. It might be helpfule. Thanks!

Sounds Cool, but video a course? How will that differ from your vids here? Will that include help via email or webcam on a personal level?
@skinz12347 жыл бұрын
Is it me or did the FOUNDATIONS course just disappear from the internet? GO TO THE LINKS YOU SENT OUT via EMAIL AND NOTHING HAPPENS!!!

That's because I'm a moron. I should stick with drawing pictures and let the professionals handle marketing. I sent a follow up email with the corrected links

It is far more in depth than these episodes. There are four video modules with assignments that follow each lesson.
