This hit me too, but for a different reason ~ I was Homeschooled (class of 2011, about a decade before the pandemic) and didn’t have any Homeschool Proms near me, nor did I know anyone my age who went to a school with a Prom. However, I did discover Contra Dances when I moved a couple years later, and decided I was gonna count that as my Prom experience. This might’ve seemed a little outta place compared to everyone else’s jeans and t-shirts (though it was near Halloween,) but I wore a green peasant dress my sister bought for me at a Renaissance faire years ago, which drew the attention of a lovely girl wearing an Invader Zim shirt who asked me to dance ~ So, yeah I definitely recommend Contra dances in lieu of traditional Proms if you can find one, they’re really fun 💖

I do love the cinderella recreation. It’s interesting that they didn’t do the custom embroidery and jewels on the neckline - but i imagine it was probably cut for time and money. That kind of detailwork can be insanely time intensive
