I always get so much useful information from your videos! I have bought some flowers from a thrift store that are lovely, but I know that if I make my own that the end result will be so much more rewarding. Pride in workmanship! Thank you!

have used colourants adding only to part A, then can leave for a while and later mix in the part B-works well if you want colour to be consistent in several pieces. The coloured part A won't harden until mixed with B even a long time later.

I have never worked with this before, looks really cool! Just curious, epoxy clay can be rolled out pretty thin (for small scale stuff) and remain pretty strong?
@TreasuryRoad2 ай бұрын
That’s a good question but l haven’t rolled it that thin to find out. I think if you are creating really small pieces then you may be better off with polymerclay if they are for indoors. You could purchase a small container of it and give it a try to see if it works for your needs. Thanks for watching. 😊

I’d like to attach some flowers to a sculptural cactus mosaic. Should I prepare the cactus in advance by placing a pin ( post) in the cactus and then push my apoxy flower onto the pin to dry in place, or would it be best not to use a pin at all and attaching the flower after it dries using a silicone adhesive. Thanks for your recommendation
@TreasuryRoad11 ай бұрын
I can’t give advice specifically about your project because there are always variables l cannot see. But l think either way would work well. If l was attaching the flower to the pin l would want to make sure it’s not smooth for the AS to grab onto for extra gripping security. Although in saying that the Apoxie Sculpt would probably grab to it like anything. The advantage to adding the flowers on later means you have the freedom to change your mind where they are placed on the overall cactus. I hope this helps you. Thanks for watching and commenting sounds like a great project. 😊

How well does black paint stain the white or natural epoxy? It's it more cat effective to buy black?
@TreasuryRoadАй бұрын
The black I find is messy and the black gets all over my gloves. When purchasing Apoxie Sculpt I generally purchase the natural coloured one but a few months ago I purchased a large container of the black for a project, I haven't started it yet. Have a look to see what retailers are charging for each colour and purchase the one that best suits your project. Thanks for watching. :)

Peter, I don't know where I got the idea, but when Part A and Part B have been mentioned in another video, I have always thought this referred to Part A Sculpt and Part B Clay. Why does Sculpt need to be purchased with Clay? I still don't quite understand but I will keep researching. Again, thank you for the video!
@TreasuryRoad2 жыл бұрын
Trish, Apoxie Sculpt and Apoxie Clay are different products. When you purchase Apoxie Sculpt it comes with its own part a and part b and the same for Apoxie Clay. They are not interchangeable, 😊

Just to clarify, if I were to adhere one of the flowers to my substrate, would it be wise to just use more of the Apoxie Sculpt/Clay respectively? I am thinking of doing a mixed media Apoxieclay with glass on glass for outdoors. Thank you for your videos. I find them quite helpful.
@TreasuryRoad2 жыл бұрын
Thankyou very much Lisa. Generally you can use Apoxie Sculpt to adhere the Apoxie Sculpt flowers in a mixed media project. :)

Do you seal these after you rub the metallic powders?
@TreasuryRoad2 жыл бұрын
When it comes to the metallic powders for inside I didn't worry about it, however if you feel it needs it then apply a clear sealant but one that doesn't go yellow. I know some people prefer to seal everything. I created a piece using Apoxie Sculpt some years back and I applied a clear sealer I think it may have been Swellegant Clear Sealant but don't quote me on that and it worked a treat. :)

What if you do have access to a kiln? What kind of clay can be used to create mosaic pieces like flowers, hearts, etc.
@TreasuryRoad2 жыл бұрын
I suggest watching this video. 😊

It would come down to the type of clay you would like to use and the firing temperature of the clay. :)
