I’m thinking of a paladin being a turtle (steel+ground) and barbarian(rock+fighting, if not pure fighting)being something along the lines of a gorilla or a rhino. The bard would be a songbird with a creation bard being able to increase their damage by a small amount(to a certain degree, say 100%) for each item in your inventory. I would suggest flying + psychic/Fairy

All of those will def be things. I have probably close to 100 ideas, but the art is expensive. So I plan on doing a DND game using some homebrew rules in a kanto campaign as like a proof of concept. And hopefully that can fund me getting more art.

You could make the wandering legendaries of this region based on the dragon gods Tiamat The Dragon Queen, Sardior The Ruby Dragon, and Bahamut The Platinum Dragon. I could see their types being Dragon Dark for Tiamat, Dragon Psychic got Sardior, and Dragon Fighting for Bahamut. They all fit the characters and it creates an effective type triangle so none are stronger than the other (at least type wise)

I’m 100% doing a fire/steel ram or Minotaur based on Karlach but I’m trying to come up with something for each subclass. Lovely video, I definitely subscribe. How about you base some pokemon of iconic/wacky DnD spells too? Fireball comes to mind immediately. Dancing Lights and Vicious Mockery are cantrips that feel very Iconic to DND. True Strike could be a base for one of those more funny/useless pokemon, kinda like Magikarp, Sunkern and Dunsparce that are memed on for being useless. Heat Metal, Magic Mouth, Shatter, Silence, Knock, Misty Step, and Rope Trick seem very unique to DnD as well, and could be bases for pokemon. Can't forget Armor of Agathys and Leomund's Tiny Hut! They're also very unique to DnD. Two ideas I randomly had for evolutionary lines was Friends - Charm Person - Dominate Person and Dancing Lights - Flaming Sphere? -Fireball (maybe Meteor Swarm as mega evo?) And you could easily have the spell be the category of the pokemon, you know like "Spiritomb, the Imprisoned pokemon". For example something like "Deceviend, the Friends pokemon". (Deceviend, from deceive and fiend)

Magic Missile and Shield! How could I forget those!! They could be two pokemon that are rivals, like Seviper and Zangoose! Gosh, there are so many iconic DnD spells that are conducive to being pokemon-ified!

Basing them on spells could be a really funny thing. My plan so far has been iconic monsters, and subclasses. Which gives SOME overlap, like the abnuration wizard is a hermit crab with a globe of invulnerability as a part of its shell.

I thought this was super cool, I love D&D so, though I'd be worried for the comparison between your fire starter line and the fenikin line Incidentally as monk is one of my fave classes, mabey a fighting - water/ground/fire/flying type for a way of four elements monk, in a similar vein to orocorio, mabey it can switch the types or has an ability to flip between them like a nerfed protian, so when using a move of those types it's secondary type changes Another idea could be either making a joke about the purple dragon knight (banneret) having them look intimidating but be kinda bad, or have them as a sudo legendary for the region, honestly it could go in either direction Also mabey the fossil Pokémon reference older editions of DND, idk enough about the older editions to have any big suggestions, and I know people still play them, so mabey the fossils are also catchable? Idk just ideas like Final idea could be an Eevee like Mon (or even regional variant with separate or regional evolutions) based on the idea of picking a subclass at whatever level the class picks it (normally 3 I know but), perhaps it even has a pre-evolution aswell that is the peasant Pokémon, showing the evolution from ordinary person to adventurer to specialist Mabey the pre Evo is the Eevee, and from there it picks one of the 12 base/ 13 official classes, instead of basing it on subclasses at whichever level that is for the class

I wanted tank, mage, dps just like the kalos trio and evocation mage as an animal was kinda gonna be that anyways. For the Eevee-like for the region I was thinking of doing a chromatic dragon riff. So it’d be the 5 colors for that. It’d be fire, ice, electric, bug, poison. I like the Ori idea, I was between that and honestly a normal type that has some kind of version of mega launcher, or some other similar style of ability. I’m trying to avoid regionals because ideally I’d like to make this a homebrew setting for ppl to use and I can’t use actual pokemon for that.

I have my own region I’ve been designing where I go “What do I like?” and turn that into a Fakemon. Naturally a made a Pokémon based off of D&D, which are literally dice dragons. Dicedrazaar and Dicedraginn. Dicedrazaar is a D6 and Dicedraginn is a D20. (And for my starter I want to choose Tidepup)

I honestly would choose the water starter because 1. It has the same type combo as Lanturn who is actually a favorite of mine (due to Sun and Moon Base Set) and 2. The last I need is a Poison or Rock type OHKOing my starter in battle

Ya I think the hidden ability for Cubark would need to be a version of furry to help with that. But type wise water/electric is probably the most solid. Wizards would immediately get owned by 1d4 pebble damage tho so that’s on brand.

You’re not wrong, it started as a tempest cleric, then once I added the Selune specific connections with shadowheart it went from being like a spectral runed wolf, into a werewolf. Because I felt like a moon wolf had to be a werewolf? Esp because her father literally is a werewolf. But tempest clerics being able to wield martial weapons, and use magic I feel like still kinda comes through with it being a fast mixed attacker. We added the meditative serene eyes to try and get a bit more of the at peace thing back.

So my goal is to do the entire pokedex, gym leaders, etc. post videos and shorts talking about them. I then either want to do a fan game, a DND homebrew, or both with the story. But the art side is VERY expensive so hopefully these do well so I can afford to do it!
