This is so weird, but when I go to path I don't have path offset. Its not even an option. Why is that?

Make sure you have selected your text first.

This is helpful. But when I go to do a last name, there are cutting lines in the background? Is this only good for single letters?

Sorry the reply is so late. After you have created the offset select Path, Union to combine the letters and the cutting lines will be removed.

How do you convert the text to a path without adding an offset to be able to see the editing points?

Object, Break apart allows you to see the nodes and edit them.

I like this, but I wish you would explain it along with the written instructions. I'm so new to this and I had a lot of trouble following. I would really like to learn how to do this, but this is NOT GOOD FOR NEWBIES.
