Dash, I'm learning a shit-ton of great stuff from you. Awesome tutorials. In particular, I like the way you show the work flow, such as recording to another channel, going bonkers, and then editing out the best bits for keeps. It's very inspiring for a guy like me that gets a bit overwhelmed. You're encouraging me to overcome my fears and really cut loose. Great stuff. Very inspirational.

Great video mate, really well explained, for anyone to understand, thanks for sharing. 10.05, you say that you dont want to blab about easy stuff like that. I honestly think, those kind of ''easy'' things are what many are lacking. The idea of how to make things change over time, without turning into a complete mess. I know I have been struggling with that for sure :D

Cthulu is way more powerful than LFO tool for the gating and sequencing, has multiple "Pages" for setting up variations and allows for full automation ....FYI....It's like 40 bucks USD Also: Instead of filling your project with chopped up recorded samples, just use your automation lanes to iterate through your different "settings" (whether it be LFOTool, cthulhu etc) this helps in a BIG way, when further down your production line you want to make a change to one of the sections or the overall sound, you wont have to RErecord with the new changes.

If you dont have lfo tools you can achieve a similar result by shaping a gate pattern on one of serum lfos and routing it to a high pass filter to cut all the sound (of you route it to the volume it doesnt let the signal come throught enough and sounds less good I think)
@PhotonAD
@PhotonAD 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah but then you only have a static gating pattern instead of the kind random one on this tutorial. I'm trying to find a way to achieve that, possibly using a few instances of fabfilter volcano since I have it.
@PhotonAD
@PhotonAD 4 жыл бұрын
Ok, i actually found out how to do it using a free demo of shaperbox (a must have plugin, even the demo as it's extremely useful), and I think the volcano works pretty well too, will make a tutorial on how to do this soon.

Sorry, but i not sourly about linking fx & Sint, i workin in Ableton - how i made this chain? Я из России, повторюсь: не понимаю зависимости и линии какими путями должны быть соединения? Сначала канал, из него синтезатор, потом эффект, и обратно в канал? Правильно понял - технически: посыл возврат, простой как на обычном пульте?

Really nice =) but Ajja's style is based on bassline imo =) of course he has those samples you show us how to create but since i listen to Ajja i have to say that it's the bassline that makes me say "that's some Ajja you puted right x)?"
@DashGlitch
@DashGlitch 5 жыл бұрын
For sure, but I have already over 10 videos on Basslines, so I don't want to bore the audience, in Psytrance, Basslines synthesis is pretty straightforward, the major differences between styles/artists is the note choice and placement.

Hi, I love your stuff and I try to experiment with it... I was trying what was in this video and I think that if you set Chaos rate same as LFO rate that means if both are set to 1/16 it might sound better for regular gate with no changes. But if you change those gates it sounds pretty messy like that... You can try it out and then tell me what you think :) Keep up at good work :)

Thanks so much for this tutorial and for diving into the darker psychedelic styles! I would love to learn how to make the type of juicy, squeaky squelch often used by masters of forest such as Arjuna or Derango. It sounds amazing and very trippy on the dancefloor. You can hear an example in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmqyZIp-ltOegqs At 0:49 seconds in the same video is another fantastic, slightly dischordant and trippy alien sound that is sometimes also used by hi-tech artists such as Kashyyyk and Kindzadza, it's very very psychedelic and sounds like something out of another dimension. It would be lots of fun to synthesize!
