What's up guys!
Today we're looking at some Psytrance Leads that were requested by a viewer, it's the main lead from the Mystical Complex track "Optimus Prime"
We also look at a couple of variations to give the sound your own unique spin!
I transposed the MIDI to C minor to make it easier for you guys to experiment with my "Music Theory Hack" and incorporate the MIDI into your tracks!
Please Like and Subscribe if this video helped you out!

I've known for a while this type of sound is made using a filter but never really put it into practice until now. A very easy tutorial to get my head around. Thanks man!

Very informative video! I really like that you not only show how to do that exact sound, but also explain how to develop it further. Thank You ♥

Thanks man! Yep, I figured there's so many tutorials showing you how to make a specific sound, but nothing showing you why those parameters do what they do, and how to add your own unique spice :)

Nice! Lots of goodies in this one :) So that's how you use filter automation to get that squealing sound for a tremolo-like 16th note part - exactly what I've been looking for! Thank you :)

Hey man, first of all - great tutorial as always thanks! I found this while trying to actually create the mystical complex bassline which a lot of people do these days. it sounds like just a sub, but just a sub is too low in volume and takes a lot of headroom and just saturating it doesn't do the work (I think) so there's gotta be more to it. I'm talking about Mystical Complex - Serenah

Hi dash, could you possibly explain the music theory of the writing the midi notes for achieving that pattern, the synthesis of the sound itself was superb, but i wouldnt know how to generate a similar melody in key to my project im working in.. any quick tips would be helpful

Can you cover Armin Van Buuren's psytrance drum patterns? I love them but I feel they are quite unique compared to regular psytrance you can find tuts for!

What do you mean? Serum is a software synthesizer - the instrument - and Reason is a DAW - the production suite. Serum will work within any DAW (Reason, Logic, Ableton, FL Studio, etc. or like in the video - Cubase). If you're looking to buy a software synthesizer - Pigments 2 is currently on sale and really powerful!

Hello Dash , do you think I can learn how to make psytrance music even if I never took any basic music course?
@VonMartins

Hey, I think every producer should know about music theory, at least any basics on harmony. Psytrance plays with a lot of harmony on layers, but not as much as other genres. So you could try
