You need to select all the nodes first, before inserting. It definitely works in 1.3.. Note that the extension has been renamed "Twirl" in 1.3

Hi Brandon, I'm having trouble creating this effect in Inkscape 1.3. I noticed that you made this video 4 months ago which would be prior to the 1.3 release. Could Inkscape have made a change that's causing my problem? In 1.3, the name of the effect in the drop down menu appears as "Twirl", not "Whirl". Does that mean they could they have tinkered with it? I have 1.3 on two of my PC's and all I can get are various forms of weirdness.

Hi Kirk, I tried the Twirl extension and I was able to get the same results using the same settings as I did in the video, so as far as I know, the only thing that has changed is the name. When you use the effect, make sure you add a lot of nodes to all of the paths. Also, depending on your screen size and zoom level, you might have to try a much bigger or smaller "Amount of twirl" setting than what I used.

Alright! That worked! Where you had your Amount of Whirl set to 40, when I set mine to 65 I got something similar to yours. Hope this exchange of comments will be helpful to others. Thank you!
