I am a few years older and I remember it on par with any of the other things in my, might i say quite remarkable, life. Being dropped off at the theater with my two friends. The lines. The "bat logo" carved into peoples hairstyles. The costumes and themed shirts and hats Movies were a much bigger event back then. They were a happening. What do you mean, "just flying to Chicago"? Why does it sound so dismissive when shooting on the real locations is well known for being more time consuming, dangerous (if we're talking action scenes), and unpredictable. Shooting a city with mate paintings and miniatures is nowhere near as complex as doing it for real. Sound stages were the green screen before the green screen. A real location will always be appreciated by real fans of cinema.

Batman and Batman Returns to me, will always stand on their own as the the two single greatest Batman movies in the universe. They have the total package. The dark, smokey mood of what I always saw Batman stories as. And the villains were beautifully dysfunctional and so interesting. Can you imagine if we had gotten a third movie with the same team? No question, the trilogy would stand head and shoulders as the true definition of a proper Batman series! As it is now, these two movies do the same. Thanks for uploading the entire docu! Saw it as a child back in 1992, enjoyed it but with mixed feelings - the marketing with the merchandise/toy line misrepresented it - this isn't a kid's film. Burton went full-on dark gothic with morally ambiguous villains. They're complex and sympathetic, which is a much harder sell to children, who just want the valiant hero to beat up the baddies. This was ahead of it's time, it'd be so much better received today!

I wouldn't say that Batman Returns is a great film. But for some reason, I do still LOVE this movie.

Why does this documentary forget Max Shreck and Christopher Walken?

He's a powerhouse, but kinda a second fiddle villain. Who will always wonder "Bruce Wayne, why are you dressed like Batman?"
@scottknode8983 жыл бұрын
@Dalton Frazier Walken is still alive but Penguin died to in the film. Shreck was created for the film only

@@maybetoby True as well.Seems like Batman was Burton's baby like Spider-Man was for Raimi it just the studios were greedy and their cake and eat it too.
